It looks to me like he will be even better in a league where you can play more football. The organisation and work rate of that team was simply awesome. The defensive players looked better than the ones we have parted with. Amazing performance.
Agree 100%. We’re lucky to have him but unfortunately he’s now going to get a lot more attention. How long before a top Championship club sacks their manager and looks in his direction? It’s inevitable because he really is a quality coach.
Yeah I agree. And why we should put much of our resources in to keep him. Even if (IMO) that means using most of Moore's fee if he goes.
We’ve never seen a loss at Oakwell under him. And at that rate carrying on from my thread last season, I don’t think we’ll ever concede a goal again!!!! Daniel, I love you.
You do realise what will be being discussed on radio Dee Darr a week today when we've hammered the oinks in their rust bucket of a pen don't ya.
Yes indeedy! That may turn out to be like the day Frankel ran in the Juddmonte International - hairs on the back of the neck and all that! I note also that Sheikh Hamdan is insisting Charlie runs Battaash in the Nunthorpe even though the horse for some reason never seems to act at York. That will nicely make the price for Ten Sovereigns!
In the interest of any football club chairmen and CEO reading from lower premiership, championship and German clubs DS is the worst manager the EFL has ever seen. We Barnsley fans are extremely not reyt in Ed.
All I can say is he’s done an excellent job up to now & I hope it carries on. A few on here had me worried after the Sheff Utd game but it looks to me like we’ve really backed Stendel & brought in players that fit his style of play rather than just ones with resale value
There will also be a sports scientist/psychologist, involved, who deserves some credit here. The last league match, before yesterday, we were League 1, they were Premiership, yet someone has taken that mindset away from these boys and filled them with self belief. If this were a cup match, it'd have been labelled Giant Killing. What a team on and off the field.
Amazing game & fantastic effort but quieten down on the giant killing talk. You’ll make us look like idiots.
But that's my point. Someone has filled these lads with such belief that it looked like a routine win and not a giant killing act.
When he`s left the club, it`ll be said he weren`t that good anyway. So far so good, but he aint faced a really tricky spell yet, they are all great when we are winning.
We have backed him he has also lost a quality keeper had his two star center halfs sold and replaced by newbies to this league and his top scorer from last season looks like he is on his way so he hasn't had it easy at all.
My thoughts too... The players went out yesterday with no fear and played as though we were favourites to win and Fulham had just come up from league 1! We were a bit frantic first 5 minutes but once we calmed down it was sublime and the confidence we will get from that will hopefully see us comfortably staying in the championship. It felt different yesterday to previous years where we have been comfortably beaten first game and it felt after one game that it was going to be a long season.
I agree with that. I’m not commenting on how difficult his job has been, I’m just on about the new signings, there’s a clear emphasis on players with pace to suit the pressing system. It’s refreshing to see us back his style of play rather than do what we’ve done previously & many other clubs do which is sign any decent players they can get their hands on & then think about how they fit in later. Be interesting to see what left back we bring in. My guess would be someone 6 foot or taller with pace who’s strong in the Cavare / Sibbick mould to fit the system
Your probley right with the left back also be interesting to see who we replace moore with, moore was never a stendel signing he does give us another option to go direct be interesting to see if we bring in a player similar to moore or different type of forward.
