Rather disappointing we are still only at the stage of rumour, about putting bids in, after already letting Moore leave.
The offspring of Odejayi? My biggest concern is the age. He may well be a fantastic player in due course, and another for the conveyor belt. But Stendel has stated that he wants some experience from the championship. Not just once or twice, but in just about every interview this window. Since he first commented, we've got rid of Pinnock, Lindsay, Davies and Moore. All with Championship experience. Fryers and Hedges also had some experience. You can argue whether any had good experience, of course. But in those players we've lost maturity and experience. Replacing them with very young lads. I worry greatly that 1-3 more signings in the 19-21 year old bracket will be too much for Daniel and he'll be unlikely to stay. The day will come when he moves on of course, but losing him in the next year before he can cement his ethos and style through the club would be disastrous. Of course, we played some very impressive football on Saturday against promotion favourites. Another day we could have lost or drawn, another day we could've won by more. Young players are infamously inconsistent.
The club have stated championship or a similar standard league , ive no idea of the quality of football in the league hes been playing in but i guess it must fit the brief.
If he is the 'The new Mandzukic', his mark up will dwarf anything we've had in the past....even Stones. I think that's the main attraction.
I'm sure the stats they base such decisions on will fit what they are after. I'm just really not sure a 19 year old amid a team with its oldest player at only 24 is that bright an idea. At some point guile and knowhow will outdo nerve, hunger and fearlessness. The other thing, at some point young players may well become fearful and have no idea how to combat it. We've not had a poor run under Daniel, that would be a huge test with such a young squad.
They are but I have to admit it made me chuckle this time. Shameful I know. It honestly wasn’t me that did it, i’ve got more important things to do in my life.
If you're Cauley Woodrow you're laughing your c ock off right now. You've just realised you're playing every week no matter how badly you play.
4 goals in 15 Polish league doesn't sound very prolific though does it. That said i don't know the quality of that league but it sounds equivalent to the Championship with the teams involved
Good shout for me would be Sandro. Woodrow is our first choice and we would be bringing in a player who can come in for Woodrow, or play alongside him if we need to go to two up top. Give him a season to come on and we would have a rising star on our hands. Go for him, I say. Like the look of him from the highlights - player in the Shipperley/Woodrow mould, who can link up play with a five man midfield, score goals and make them for midfielders coming through. Right player and with potential and we should have the money, as long as Brentford don't outdo us. Yes, please!
If we sign him I'll give him a chance. However, to break our club record on a young lad with 4 goals to his name is a massive gamble. Someone must know something.
I’d imagine they use more data than the goals to game ratio, that a lot of people on here use as a measure of how good a player is. They don’t get many wrong nowadays. If they think he’s worth breaking the bank for, then he must be something special.
