Agreed. No doubt he’ll say how he was persuaded by their vision for the future etc. Not just the wage on offer.
Maybe it's not about money if you Google pearce he is from ormskirk near southport which is much closer to wigan... or maybe they have offered more money.
Not neccesarily about money, but Wigan shelled out on Antonee Robinson this summer, so I can't imagine Pearce will see a lot of gametime at left-back.
Would he have been infront of a fit pinnilos? I'm not sure I think we were thinking for when dani leaves next summer if rumours are true we were giving a.4 year deal.
Or maybe it is about money and Wigan see us as a potential replacement for their imminent relegation and only way to stop it is sign all out targets? Wigan sry to announce Kone on a 3 year deal.
Such a shame to not want to improve though. Fair play to make money but I'd have thought the hard work and competitive spirit needed to be a pro footballer in the first place would carry on through your career.
Why would any young footballer, pick a club to sign a four year deal at, based on the head coach, when the average life span of coaches career at any one club is 18 months tops. They’ve got to base their decision on finance and potential, and the club paying better wages, as the potential to get better players and finish above other clubs with a smaller wage structure in theory anyway, so you can’t blame anyone knocking us back for a club paying better wages in my opinion.
You’ve bet me to it, I was going to post the same. 2 good manager’s but you’re a scouser & Wigan’s less than half the journey from home than Barnsley is & they pay better wages. I’m sure it took Pearce all of 2 minutes to decide
This every day of the week. I suspect him or his agent told Wigan what we were offering in wages and Wigan just added X to it, simple as.
