The SYP Independent Advisory Group meet on Thursday. This is where the safety officers of each club and fan reps meet with SYP. Anything anyone would like to raise?
Why did it take till 3pm Friday evening to release tickets for a game that was happening 3pm the next day? (That's only if it was SYPs decision) If it has nothing to do with SYP then my apologies just ignore me.
Why can other forces manage fans either side each other of one another yet it's not allowed at our club
Would SYP be willing to execute their stop and search powers outside the ground in an attempt to prevent pyrotechnics getting into the ground and help alleviate some of the pressure on the stewards (who seem unwilling to search folk in the ground)?
Are the club and SYP waiting for a serious incident to occur such as catastrophic injury or loss of life before certain issues are addressed and fans are adequately searched on entering the stadium. This isn’t solely related to pyrotechnics either. I’ve thought for quite a while that football stadiums are incredibly soft targets for anyone wanting to cause considerable harm.
How are they planning on policing the area around the railway entrance on SG Way when we have games against local rivals/teams that bring a large away following given now the level crossing is closed that is only one of two ways into the town centre and will potentially be a flash point. Also was it the police that asked for the bridge over the bus station to be opened after the fulham game as it was opened again at 5.15ish.
They should get Nudge onboard as Hooligan Consultant, he'll have loads of suggestions regarding this.
If there is/are serious incidents involving rival supporters around the town - caused by the dispersal of supporters around the town as a result of the closure of the level crossing - is SYP willing to publicly condemn the actions of this inept Barnsley Council for allowing such an inadequate unfit for purpose bridge to be built at that crossing ???
Yer honour It’s Barnsley councils fault I kicked his head in cos they made me cross a bridge with other people
Could I make the suggestion that when we have away support in numbers at Oakwell, ie Leeds, Sheff Weds that away fans are kept inside the ground for 10 mins after kick off to allow for the majority of home supporters to disperse. No need to do it for when there is small travelling support, but could be chaos when the North stand is highly populated. Will make it far more manageable.
I suggest you yourself ask for an explanation, why involve the police. Then you might have a reasonable response and then able to give a reasoned comment.
What would it take our club to do to be able to sell every single seat in the North Stand demand permitting, like we used to?
