Taking money out of it do you think Winnall Roberts, Watkins, Scowen, Bree would have had more enjoyable careers staying.

Adam Davies cant be happy, Moore and Lyndsay played but i dont see them shining.

Going back to David Currie and Carl Tyler they would have been better staying aswell.

Saying that we would have been better off with them all staying.

Anymore players over the years that left when we were doing well but moved on and fell flat with their own careers?

Trevor Allott, Ashley Ward. Both poorly rated at clubs after they left us.

I don’t know about Scowen, he plays most games. The rest would’ve been definitely better off staying here for purely football reasons.

Remember how important Brian Howard was to us & he never had anywhere near as much success at Sheff Utd or Reading

I don't think footballers think about this as much as we'd like them to. Their careers are short and their windows to cash in close quickly. Their priority (or should be) is to look after themselves and their family. For those payers that are not going to be winning many trophies regardless of where they play they will take the money and they are right to. I don't see many of them regretting their decision.

No regrets for any of them moving financially. The question is just footballing wise that we werent as good after they left and they must have missed the adulation they got here. Brian Howard that has been mentioned is a great example.

I'm sure they miss being the star man, the worshiped hero rather than a bench warmer and bit part player. I just think if they had to chose financial security would always be the choice. For world class players these choices are different as they'll get top whack wherever. And i'm sure they'll always back their ability at a bigger club. I'm sure Butterfield and Watkins didnt sign up at Norwich to be bench players. They mus have thought they could have the same impact there surely.

Adam Hammill played his best football for us, then moved on, did nothing of note, eventually came back and set Oakwell alight, before moving into obscurity again. Some players and clubs are just a perfect fit.

I think its fair to say that all too often, while the bank balance may be healthier elsewhere, the grass isn't always greener.

Brian howard. Butterfield. Craig davies. O'grady. Hammill to wolves. Loads more who took the money and did nothing or very little after leaving us. Cant knock them for taking the dollar but some must regret leaving us when they did
