    It’s not about whether a millionaire footballer should save a club.

    The point of the post is that EFL clubs go bust owing what it costs for a premiership striker for a week or to buy a 4th choice goalie

    You know, the EFL couldn't be more spineless. It is getting ridiculous now. The competition in L1 this season is becoming tainted by the whole sorry mess while they continue to stick their fingers in their ears singing la la la.

    What if Bolton finally come through this and get a competitive team together? At the moment some teams in the league are basically being given a free 3 points because Bolton are putting a team out that couldn't compete in the Ryman league. If another team misses out on promotion by a point to one of the teams that battered Bolton's kids when they didn't get the same skewed game then I would hope and expect a court case would ensue.

    "If a successful conclusion to a sale is not found or there are no credible plans for the club to continue the season in administration by the planned board meeting at 17:00 BST on Tuesday 27 August 2019, then the EFL board will consider lifting the suspension on the notice of withdrawal of the club's membership of the league"

    In other words, if you don't sort your s.hit out by Tuesday we might consider lifting the suspension on kicking you out. That means that we might then be free to kick you out and we might consider possibly doing it perhaps, possibly.

    Spineless t0ssers. I hold them in total contempt.

    The EFL is just a collection of clubs. My guess is that a small number of members, those clubs being run sensibly, would have kicked Bolton and Bury out before the season started if they could. The rest are living beyond their means (or sailing close to the wind) so don't want to rock the boat unless absolutely necessary, because they could be in the same predicament somewhere down the line.

    The point is EFL clubs could go bust for chasing the dream whilst clubs like ourselves try and live in our means.

    How is it that a country as corrupt as America, can govern their sports with a rod of iron, yet we openly allow clubs/people flaunt the rules for personal gain?

    This really shouldn’t be difficult to manage, but needs changing from its current format as it operates retrospectively.
    Something as simple as:
    Each club submits budget yearly for playing staff (based on funds available)
    Budget submission is reviewed and amended/accepted by EFL
    Players then signed are ‘ticked off’ from that budget
    Any players signed that takes them over budget is rejected.

    Clubs will still find a way round it just like derby did with the Rooney signing class him as a player coach that way his wages don’t count towards ffp

    No sympathy with either club and whilst I accept the fans will be gutted, they weren’t worrying much when they were spending way above their means and enjoying the fruits of that overspend.
