I did take it as him meaning that. My comment, "Strange interpretation" was addressed to the OP. Stendel makes it clear that he was aware of the situation when he arrived. My interpretation of his answer is that he's not particularly happy about it. It is what it is, but it's not bliss.
You seem to have turned very bitter towards our football club Jay (that is your right) but if to buy talented players and improve them is the way the club want to go us as fans have the right to back or withdraw our support.I'm old school and I'll support my club through thick and thin but I also understand if some don't like the ideas they may want to withdraw there support.Thats down to individual choice.
Think you’re all over complicating this.....if you were sat in a public meeting representing your employer, are you gonna answer awkward questions truthfully, or play the party line?! The latter or you get sacked. Meeting pointless. Thread Pointless. Goodnight!
Ah sorry little Jack, forgot u......You will be won’t you.... can you wear your little stone island jacket at Kendray Primary when you back to year 2?! Will it still fit?!
It's my football club not their's. Mine and everyone else who posts on here. Mine and everyone who turns up on a Saturday. Mine since being 5 years old. I've bought my season ticket, I've paid my way. I don't believe in them. I'm not bitter about my football club, I love it, but I don't like them. I'll still be here in future, they won't.
It was very clear that Stendel was fully aware of the policy of signing young players to develop and sell on and doesn’t have a problem with it. However, he also stressed the need to keep some of those players who had been developed, clearly a hint in my eyes that he thinks selling both Lindsey and Pinnock was a mistake. He talked about youngsters having idols who represented Barnsley FC and not 5 different idols in 5 years. He’s clearly unhappy about having such a high turnover in his squad and knows this will make survival in the Championship incredibly difficult.
Totally agree. Under the guise of them taking over the only thing that’s changed is them finding new ways to extract more money from the supporters and the team. They haven’t improved the facilities other then a lick of paint & a volunteer offering to paint the walls inside the ponty. Our FanZone is run for for the most part by our supporters trust. Down the line they want to improve the west stand, but that’s a few years away yet. All sounds like sound bites to me.
The policy is ever developing though and the players that left were unwilling to sign longer contracts and we chose to cash in rather than get nothing.... The money we have generated through promotion and player sales has then been spent on players on 4/5 year deals meaning we have a stronger hand in transfers and players staying at the club which is the correct course in my opinion. We all want a successful club which we were last season the championship is hard as we know and a lot of new faces coming in will take time to gel. The promise is there after the Fulham performance and I'm more than willing to back the direction the club is going in and believe it is the right one but it doesn't happen over night and we have to hold our nerve and back the team good and bad.
Fulham a one off..... not difficult to sign crap players on 5 year contracts... COS NOBODY ELSE WANTS THEM!!! I’d rather have an experienced player on a 1 year / 18 month deal to bolster our VERY WEAK squad!
It’s pretty much what anyone with even a minor knowledge of football would say. Glad to see he is trying to kid us. The fact he thinks that should be a wake up call to anyone doubting the tough season ahead.
What do you expect in 18 months of being here, a monorail and helipads? A think some on here have issues that we’ve got overseas investors and would take great pleasure in saying ‘told you they’d piss off’ if they happen to do so
Oh, sorry, apparently it’s a ‘game’ you play?? This is real life though isn’t it?! You aware or REAL life?!
