If the petition doesn't reach 16.8 Million, that must mean that Leave voters have grown substantially in number. It makes me sad to think that the BBS is so full of holier than thou lefties willing to sign this worthless petition.
Whats that supposed to mean? Don't get me wrong, I understand it was a little quip posted to make you appear smarter and more worldly than myself. The fact is, the attitudes shown on this board by a large number of people and the country as a whole makes leave voters more resolute in their belief that Brexit needs to happen by any means neccessary. You are not better than me, I am not a "little-englander", I knew what I was voting for and my side won, your side lost. All these smart-arsed jibes at leavers just makes you look like sore losers. One of the big remainer mantras is "leavers didn't know what they were voting for" I counter that with the following 'Do remainers know what they were voting against?' The fact is that nobody knows for certain what will happen either way. Brexit may be an unmitigated disaster, but so might remaining in the expansionist protection racket that is on the way to militarising itself when we were told this would never happen, ever closer fiscal ties to a group who are in stagnation bordering on reccession. Serious question, if we were not in the EU and we were being asked if we would like to join it, would you vote to join it?
These petitions are debated in parliament if they attract enough votes. There is not enough time for parliament to do everything that it needs to do, and to allow a proper debate and vote on No Deal Brexit. The debate on whether the PM should be allowed to prorogue parliament further reduce that time.
Yep ........ let’s see how close it gets to 17.4 MILLION. MPs v The People I’m on the side of The People.

Agreed, I realise that. They've been shown to have almost no effect on policy, even when millions of votes have been received. They do however help to create a picture of the strength of feeling on the issue.
