Liverpool have agreed a fee of £7 million with Glasgow Rangers for the permanent transfer of Ryan Kent.
Playing in a poor quality league against inferior opposition week in week out. Seems like a perfect deal.
He was never going to be good enough to break into that Liverpool team. So Scousers doing their old captain a favour there.
He must have improved a bit. I remember one wonder goal & a season of wasted opportunities. Wasn't sad when he went back to Liverpool TBH.
I can't get my head around £7m at all. If he's worth that, we're getting worse deals than I first thought
£7million is nothing these days. Barnsley don't get the going rate when players are sold, and it frustrates me. We're doing better - we will no longer sell for £500k someone who gets the goal to win promotion to the Premier League - but we still fall short of what other teams get.
Didn’t they take out a massive loan some years ago based on future gate receipts basically they’ve already spent the gate money for years to come .... might be wrong though
Rangers originally went bust as a result of an Employee Benefit Trust which saddled the club with a large debt when HMRC received judgment that the EBT was unlawful. The issue of securitising revenue against future tickets sales was in Craig White’s tenure. This was why his takeover was blocked as the cash he claimed to have available to buy the club were based on a loan against future season ticket sales from Ticketus. These issues do not apply to the current owners but they did lose £15m last year.
