Difficult not to agree with the OP. While the plan and the modus operandi are sound in abstract, the fact is that being dewy-eyed about future development and a mystical time when other clubs will follow the ethos of FFP won't keep us in this league. After so many years attending I grow weary of the standard of football in League One. If we drop back down again this season - which seems likely the way things are right now - then I think fans will increasingly question the point of it all. It's not about winning the Championship or even getting promoted. It's about watching this higher standard of football and seeing our team competitive in it. Four goals in eight games? The team are not far off, to be fair. And I don't think their efforts could be criticised. Similar with the coaching staff (perhaps with the exception of the Birmingham game). But the plain fact is that their best is not quite good enough. And by the time we get to January, how rescuable will the situation be - even if we assume that the Board is minded to do something to assist?
Big difference this time is that the previous owner was a fan and had the best interests of the club at heart but didn’t have enough money to keep bank rolling us but the new owners do but don’t appear to give two hoots about the fans or the club
What are you moaning about? Which one of those players we sold would have made a difference today? We were superb this afternoon. Did you go? Outplayed a good Forest side. We have issues scoring and the board deserve stick for not recruiting better. But blaming the club because players wanted out? Pinnock was the only one who was class and even he can’t get a game now.
Kieffer Moore maybe, far too many times including today are we seeing balls going into the box and nobody there to attack it.
I'm moaning at the running of the football club. I've said probably 20 times in the last hour alone that I do not blame the players. They deserve hammering for the recruitment all together. Those players were under contract, it's our decision if they leave. Or on the flip side, make them a co tract offer earlier in the season rather than at the end of the season. You cannot sell a player who scores over 20 goals for you in a promotion season and choose not to replace him. Wheres all the money gone? Yano, the money that OUR club made? Weve raked in millions and spent fivers. Fact.
I agree on that as my post history shows. I’m not debating that. I’m disagreeing that those departed would have made a difference today. We were good this afternoon and unlucky. The negativity tonight is something I’d expect after a 4-0 hammering.
The fact you put fact at the end renders your post unimportant to me. You aren’t some wise sage. You’ve come on tonight practically saying you no longer support the club. Get a grip. Through good and bad. That’s football.
Why? Because you don't like hearing the truth? You keep walking around with your fingers in your eyes pal, it matters not to me. Did I say that? I've read it back 2 or 3 times now and I've not seen that part. What I said is I've lost interest, which I have. In all fairness I lose interest in my job, doesnt mean I'll pack it in does it? My point is this, people are losing interest meaning people will not spend their hard earned money on watching BFC. Would I pay 36 quid to watch us? Not a chance. I've got a season ticket, I've had it for the best part of 21 years but I'm fed up. And one last time just so you hopefully take it in. The team is not my problem.
He's rightfully tearing into the owners who are taking us all for mugs not the players or coaching team. Everyone on the playing side should have our full backing for the entire season, win, lose or draw given the difficult circumstances we find ourselves in. It is laughable that some on here think the owners cannot be questioned and that everything is fine and dandy at Oakwell. Maybe we should all just be glad we have a football club at all.
So you’re telling me you think having Kieffer Moore in the team wouldn’t have made a positive difference today?
If I remember correctly PC said that we didn't have to sell in that January window of 2017. We were 7th just 1 point outside the playoffs and should have added to the squad and gone for it and if we didn't make it so be it we gave it a chance and the players go with our blessing. But just imagine if we had, we could have offered higher wages and start to attract higher calibre of players. I lost interest in football a couple of years ago, season ticket holder for 20 years and decided enough was enough because I could not see things change even with new owners and been to Oakwell twice in 3 years. The buzz has gone!!!
