Last thing we need is another fc*cking referendum! We're already killing ourselves over the last one. Will it be a no deal political thread exit? I vote for banning stupid people from ever voting on anything ever again. And I count myself very much in that number.
Leave it as it is please. There’s not enough football to talk about 7 days a week to keep the board going, especially with one match day thread nowadays (that’s possibly why the board looks like it has more O/T threads now that football ones as on the busiest day to talk about football it has been condensed to one thread). It’s the reason other boards have died and ours hasn’t, because ours is a community of people discussing all sorts.
Cant believe the numbers that have voted. I'd go for no as I think like others have said that the board wouldn't have enough going on otherwise. Having said that I've been ignoring a lot of the political ones as it does tend to go round in circles but then so do the football posts!
Me neither tbh , can’t believe the number of people too stupid as to not click onto a thread that’s clearly marked , Better off with repetitive football only threads and piss takes of threads with words that’s sound like someone’s thread title . I’ve never called for an official match day thread because I only want to click once to hear somebody’s views on the game . It looks as though the stupid people that can’t stop clicking into political threads and want to complain that it’s not what they thought it would be will win the day .
I've voted No. I suspect that political threads are only in ascendancy due to the extraordinary events of the last few years. The fact that many of them run to numerous pages is a guide to their popularity (although you could also argue that mostly it's the same posters time and again). Even though I rarely contribute to them, I do read a lot of them, especially if the topic appeals, but if it doesn't they're easily avoided. If they were out of sight, I might not seek them out as a matter of course.
We’re in unprecedented times. I’d be worried if we didn’t have multiple threads on it to be honest. The forum would likely fade away as a result. Since the introduction of Transfer Windows there’s very little to talk about football wise, especially when on a bad run. This forum was built not being solely about football anyway.

Yes this is a football forum I understand other subjects can be raised but it makes perfect sense to move such a topic to another area. Majority of other forums have sub menus I quite like ours that it’s quite open as you stumble upon things you may not otherwise but Politics should always be removed from general areas in my opinion.

I’ve had a long thought about this, and obviously it’s the forum of the person who runs it. Two things in particular concern me. If you strip out politics, you have to go the extra yard and make the main board all about BFC. To not do is hypocritical and conflicts. It’s very easy not to click on a thread if it doesn’t interest you. Many a thread I never open. Secondly, dilution of content and added levels to get to content. Personally, I just wouldn’t be arsed with it. I tend to stay on the main page and refresh when I come back to it, flitting back and forth for a bit of froth and frivolity... it just makes it all harder and something I’d just either bail out of completely or limit myself to one section. Frankly, the grimness of bfc content, I’m more inclined to discuss croissants, crochet or alternative laxative remedies.
