That's the point of parliamentary democracy though. MPs are representatives who think for themselves, not robots who carry out exact instructions. At the moment the consensus in Parliament seems to be that a no deal brexit is too damaging, but they can't make a deal work either. I accept that seems contradictory and not getting us anywhere fast. However, if you don't like the way your representative has acted re. the referendum, which was indeed advisory, you can vote against them at the next election, which looks to be happening fairly imminently. Furthermore, you can vote explicitly for parties committed to leaving without a deal if necessary, or for one committed to revoking article 50. That's how democracy works in the UK. How democracy doesn't work is a PM suspending parliament because he knows it doesn't support his course of action. The only reason we have a PM is because their programme of legislation commands the confidence of the House, who are in turn afforded their legitimacy by the public's votes.
