Can you watch the game on play back and take one hard look at yourselves and ask did I wear the shirt today . Woodrow you were awesome I saw you track back and make a tackle in our area . The rest of you take a hard look at yourself you were fecking woefully. I cannot take one positive from that performance other than Woodrow. Cavare look at your position for 2 of the goals old your fecking hands up.
Watch the last 10 minutes again - Mowatt covered every corner of the pitch as if the game was still winnable - slagging him off after that is shameful IMHO.
I'm not sure I want my centre forward tracking back and winning a tackle in our penalty area. Hey ho.
Which begs the question where was he for the first 80 minutes? A huge improvement once the game is lost is easy peasy.
Mowatt put a shift in today, if you wanna pick something then maybe his set piece work wasn’t the best but other than that I can’t fault him. Onto Woodrow I’ve seen on here that it seems everyone is in agreement he was brilliant. Was he? The lad scored a cracking goal and fair play. He gave the ball away way too many times, and the most frustrating part is that he’s our lone striker and always out wide or deep in the corner with the ball at his feet. Get in the bloody box lad, look at their striker today in the box at every opportunity for the delivery’s into tho box. He’s now going home with the match ball. Those conditions there’s mistakes to be had, I wanna see Cauley in the box a lot more.
I thought he’d put effort in the whole game, I only commented on the last 10 mins as he was clearly not giving up, when most would (or had)
The point I was making about our striker tracking back to tackle in our area was a dig at the defenders not tracking back. I would much prefer him in the opposite box too.
Realistically there's only Woodrow and Mowatt that can take anything from today. Maybe Thomas but he wasn't quite the same after he went down injured. Walking from the ground, I was thinking if Stendel will make some drastic changes Wednesday night to try and kick us up the backside a bit but what can he really do? Ben Williams in at left back? Maybe Wilks starting again? McGeehan back in? (Not sure why he wasn't in the squad today, is he injured again?) There's not a lot of options available.
It's like having £10 to spend all week You can juggle all the options but in the end you only have £10
I agree. Although it seems harsh to criticise him, he's clearly frustrated and working hard for the team, however I'd ask is it the best use of his efforts? We need other players do those things and Woodrow getting on the end of chances. I'm looking forward to Red Rain pointing out our failing high line and poor distribution.
