He would have to perform. No one would want to buy him if it wasn’t the case. That’s the whole mental thing I don’t understand when people say we shouldn’t hold onto players who don’t want to stay. They still have to perform to get a move/best deal.
unfortunately I don’t they they do. Players get sideways move after move picking up easy cash if they want to just dial it in. I’m not saying Moore for example would have done that but plenty have in the past
As others have said, the issue perhaps wasn’t selling in the summer, it was the recruiting that followed it. I still think individually the back 4 are ‘ok’. Just as a unit they are playing like they’ve just met...
First offer or only offer? Let's be honest, it's not been a secret any player was leaving - it's been on here weeks before they've gone, so it must have been known in the football world - but yet only one team appears to have come in for each player. Why no bidding wars? I'm not saying all 3 didn't do a job for us, but do we see players through rose tinted glasses compared with how teams might view/analyse them?
It’s absolute ******** that by the way. One of the younger members of the squad told me that Kieffer said his byes before the Germany trip as he thought he was leaving but after that fell through he got on with training & wasn’t a problem at all. Just an excuse to justify selling him. Kieffer was one of the most popular lads in the dressing room just like Potts was before he left.
The players meeting must still be going on because nobody yet has churned out the usual fans were class, unlucky but we go again tweets yet.
If they have any sense the club will have advised them to have a social media silence. Given they all tweeted the same thing pretty much word for word last week I’m quite sure there’s a strong element of club control there anyway.
No offence mate but I was taking the mick. I don't believe or disbelieve stuff like that. But I don't think we miss any of the departed other than Pinnock. My gripe would be failing to adequately replace said departed. We were and still are crying out for a few experienced players and there were many available. The strategy is commendable in terms of us as a going concern and running off our steam. But to sign a squad full of green, raw players is crazy brave.
I'm not saying he purposefully would have downed tools but his head may not have been in the game. As seems to be the case with Butland.
