I'm encouraged by tonight. If we can cut out the horrific defending mistakes we will be ok. Continue with errors like that and we will be down by February.
Relegated after we sell Woodrow in Jan because it’s claimed he wanted to leave, what could we do etc. But we will retain an interest so that’s fine. Looking forward to meeting the schoolboy brought in to replace him.
Unfortunately our defending seems to be getting worse so just can’t see us staying up.Teams don’t have to play well to score against us.
Have you seen Stoke and Huddersfield? At least we are creating chances and have young players who are working hard. I certainly don't think we'll be bottom.
Unless father Christmas gets us a Centre Half and a striker we will go down. If we make some good signings, maybe we'll stay up. We're just one bad tackle on Woodrow away from being in even bigger trouble.
We’re down - nailed on. Not just because of the lack of quality on the field (or even mainly because of it) but because of the shambolic policy on purchases and sales. Stendel is shuffling a pack of cards that can’t change anything.
Wasn't at the game tonight. I was at one of the greatest musical performances I've seen in modern times from a band ( King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard). I had targeted 4 points from Brentford & Derby, if we were to stay up. Was pleased to read we got an equaliser to salvage a point. I fear though, that will not be enough. Another relegation struggle is on. one of the club's making.
Funny how the majority think we'll be relegated.. I'm not kidding here, I saw people on this same board talk about a playoff push based on the first Fulham game haha. I'm not super confident right now, but I take encouragement from the fact that I see our players try hard every game and there's some quality there for sure that just needs some fine tuning.. But the talent is definitely there. I look at how we played against Nottingham Forest for example, we were the better team. We went toe to toe with Leeds who are second. We beat Fulham who are fifth. We're not talking about winning the league here. We're talking about being just good enough to be better than three other teams over the course of a season. I think we can do that.. And I think we'll be much better next season as our young guys are only going to keep improving. Plus being in a league like the championship will enable us to sign better players than if we were in League One. I think this season will be a struggle, I always did, but let's just get through it and try to survive. Come on Barnsley!!
Touch and go. I think we'll start scoring goals more regularly as the season goes on, but it's much harder to gel a defence quickly, and a good defence is what all decent teams are built from. As others have mentioned, teams don't even have to play well to score against us, and that's highly worrying. For what it's worth, had we just kept Pinnock, we'd be mid-table right now in my opinion. Cashing in on him may well turn out to be one of the biggest false economies in the club's history.
Stay up. Bring Radlinger, Diaby, Dougall and Striker in January then our spine of the team looks ultimately better. We are creating chances. We just need to cut out the schoolboy errors in defence. And we have Stendl. This is the main reason why we’ll stay up.
I don’t think we have seen improvement over past 10 games nor do I see players who will turn things in the squad. Given the transfer policy January will be more a risk than a reward to our squad. Teams around us seem to have more. Relegation.
I like Stendel. I don't quite get the adoration he gets for getting a squad that should have been top six promoted. The proof on how good he is could well come if he can organise our defence into a good one. If he can we could survive.
