I opened a thread saying i had done. I was going to pick and choose games. Instead of the fixture list dictating my other activities in life, work etc i would attend when i could make it and if i felt the motivation. Turn the clock forward and we have had a 5-1 stuffing with a youth team, lost our manager one of the best we have had and given the tools maybe had a change of becoming a legend. We don't know what direction the club wants to go but we know what direction it doesnt with loanees and experience crossed off the list. We know players will come but won't stay. We know the return on players financial investment takes precedence over on field quality, competitiveness and ambition. The cloth we cut today is no better than the cloth we cut with the last 4-5 managers and owner. Im still done. In fact im getting used to it. In fact im thinking its time for the club to earn my return. May sound arrogant but right now im a customer who may be shopping elsewhere for a while.
Time and money on other topics. Will i jump ship and support another club? No. But i just feel its time for a full break and let some other activities take their priority.
Hahahaha maybe you will but ive not been for last couple. Gurantee i won't be at Bristol or Hull games as i have now other things on. So Swansea is perhaps the only option over this next few weeks.
I know how you feel mate. Obviously I'm supporting from afar, but I still try to make it to as many games as possible. I have very little interest in modern football, apart from the World Cup and European Championship, so Barnsley is the only thing left connecting me to the game in general. Currently, that connection is hanging by a very thin thread. I'm already wondering whether I really want to spend Boxing Day freezing my **** off watching West Brom get their first win at Oakwell since 1962, or it would be a more prudent use of time to spend it over a few ales with friends or family who I only see a couple of times a year.
I’ve never felt as disillusioned with bing a Barnsley fan as I do now. At this point I can’t see me bothering after this season.
Yeah in a couple of years things have changed pretty dramatically and the addition of venture capitalists always say uncomfortably with me.
Come along way since watching Graham Pugh miss a penalty at Aldershot on a Tuesday night but with this shower of ***** ruining our club it could be the time to call it a day
That was me when they sold conor, winall and bree when we could have made playoffs. Happened too many times - they are taking the piss.
Not had a season ticket since btw and only gone to about 4 games since. Been busy with the family instead. Still follow closely but not tied to it.
All I can say is I'm addicted & couldn't quit even if I wanted to. Everyone must choose their own path but mine leads to Oakwell.
Id had one well over 20 years but having kids changed priorities and decided to do stuff with them. Ill be back once i see we are building a team again that isnt going to get demolished every 2-3 years and start again. Interesting they have done zero marketing about tickets to lapsed holders. Maybe a gdpr issue?
