wishing eternal damnation on the people who saved the club and who are trying to build something here is a tad shortsighted.
be careful what you wish for. really.
we need to survive and then prosper. given the issues PC had trying to find the right people to buy i dont think we'd have people queuing up to buy us if the current crew bailed out.

whoknows? Daniel might have wanted to leave. we just dont know.

its not in the boards interests to head up this thing and make it a failure. thats absurd.

so....lets wait and see who his replacement is. the king is dead etc. life moves on. he's left us with some lovely memories but mebbe this job was too big for him?

Balls to that (with all due respect). Survive and prosper does not include hacking off a large chunk of your fanbase and departing from principles we hold dear.

    Agree with that .
Something had to give with performances and results it needed some sort of airing .
The owners have decided its Daniel to go .
I don’t know the ins and outs but if results and performances improve after he’s gone then imo it was the right call .
I liked Daniel almost all fans do but the status quo couldn’t and shouldn’t be tolerated .
The display on Saturday and I was only listening it was woeful , strangers playing football as if they’d never played before .
That performance came as a reason because I know they can play better than that and imo they chose not to .
If Daniels leaving is a solution and performances and results improve it will have been justified if not the owners will know about it .
But whatever happens the status quo could not be tolerated because if it had we’d hsve. Even down well before Christmas ,
So now it’s wait and see imo , even if we lose a few as long as I see commitment and that word belief and we go down fighting then that’s fair enough for me because there was none on Saturday .

I was just thinking the same. I will always be eternally grateful to Stendel for the memories last season and his general affinity with the fans but we don’t know the exact reason why things have come to ahead

Could’ve been his honesty in the interview after the Preston game that was the last straw? Maybe the apparent player meeting without the manager that helped towards the decision, or was it just purely results and performances? Or just that he himself has seen enough and feels like he’s working within too many constraints?

One thing I’am hoping is that the boards timing is down to the fact they are serious about staying in this league and want to act swiftly to get someone in who can try and keep us up. I only hope they have the experience and know how to do so - judging by past appointments im not very optimistic about that

    I agree,
we know the recruitment process involves Daniel at every stage if GGs explanation is to be believed.

we know the financial constraints we work under thanks to RedRain, Daniel either accepts it or he doesn’t. It was clear to me that given our players, the current tactics were not working. You can argue we need more experience but regardless of that get what you’ve got to be difficult to beat is a minimum requirement.

The recruitment process does not involve the HC. I can’t believe that people even at this stage don’t understand that.

I even remember chipping some money in for a flag that said the same there was no pictures of random hedge fund managers on it.

How can you have patience with impatient people who have forced out a man who coached our team to a promotion season unbeaten at home after 11 games in a new league with a new team?

This board haven’t done anything that Cryne didn’t do , we don’t know what’s happened Stendel sacked or walked , if he’s walked he’s not the man we thought he was , if sacked that’s the owners prerogative, hard on Stendel but our performances even with an inexperienced side have been tactically all over the place . The idea that the board have misled fans is ridiculous, we knew their strategy for the club and they are sticking to it so far . Financially the club is stable , we all want success but spending millions isn’t going to happen . Stendel Openly saying we need experience and implying the players brought in weren’t his choices might be what some fans wanted and covered his back for a poor start but it can’t have gone down well in the dressing room

The HC says I want a midfield player (involvement)
The recruitment team creates a shortlist
Manager chooses from that short list and cannot choose other players
So the choice i between players on the list or no one.
He may want a defensive CM the spreadsheet may highlight 5 attacking CM

you can call it involvement but there is little input.

    You are wrong.
Stendel agreed to all but two signings in the summer - Chaplin & Collins.

With the latter he kicked off so much they went and got him his own choice regardless of what the scouting team thought.

Gally wrote this. I have highlighted the relevant section.

First of all we have a recruitment department. Start the process with identifying the way we want to play so worked with Daniel to do that. Daniel works with the recruitment team to come up with profiles for each position based on the way he wants us to play. Then we have James and some analysts who go through data and maybe identify 50 players for each position from all over Europe. Then we will filter that down to maybe 27 or 28. Then video scout maybe 20 and narrow down the list again ( 2 video scouts, 4 reports per scout). Then maybe we have between 5 and 10 and then GG looks at the situation financially and what is the situation for the player and if we can get them out. Is there something possible? Then we maybe we end up with 3. Do 15mn clips of good things and bad things and what the player needs to be improved to take player from a to b. Asses their potential. Then show Daniel and involve his staff and he ranks them in order of preference. GG goes to get them starting with the #1 option. if we can't get the favorite for maybe financial reasons we look at the second one.
