Well if a deal with Sunderland was done 5 weeks ago it would go some way to explaining the curt statement from the club
No idea whether it's true or not but I don't blame him if it is. If my boss undermined my ability to do my job properly despite me repeatedly saying what was needed I'd also start looking for a new job whilst taking the paycheques in the meantime.
Like the Op said its only hearsay, but if there was any truth in it surely the club would have to sack the coach and then take Sunderland to a football tribunal.
Lets look at Gallys post stating that Daniel is devastated at being sacked and that there was no truth in any such link with Sunderland. I find it disappointing and crass at the modest number who are backing the board regardless and asking to give them time to give their side of the story, yet are willing, almost eager to engage in potentially defamatory rumours about our now ex manager. If you want to wait to hear from the board and wish to suppress discussion of the boards wrongs, you can't then fill that void with unfounded accusations of Stendels conduct. Be consistent. That's a general statement, not just aimed at BMW by the way.
I said at the start of my post regarding hearsay and I for one have asked for more reason until the facts are established.I have said many times my respect and love for Daniel Stendel and that will never change but this board as become a fire pit of hate for the board regarding what and what might not have happened. The love of supporting my team/club is greater than listening to rumours and slanging matches between supporters.I can't wait for the next match for hopefully a bit of respite.
Funny that this rumour isn't on the Sunderland board. Also five weeks ago he'd barely started in the championship, why stop a league lower?
There's a difference between speculating, but holding off from judging, and taking said speculation as the truth and apportioning blame based on it. Everyone slagging the board off is doing so from a position of incomplete information - speculating on whether DS was tapped up, but not slagging him off until facts are known is not the same thing.
You did say... like the OP said, its only hearsay BUT.... I just found that a contradiction to having made a stance of waiting for board comment. I've always believed the word but negates anything that preceded it.
Convenient. The board can be judged on what they have put into the public domain at this time. There seems almost universal disappointment and condemnation of those actions. For some to besmirch and sully the name of our ex manager with ZERO evidence is hypocritical in the extreme if your stance is the board should not be judged. I agree, they are not the same. But not in the way you put it forward.
I have, (and will continue to do so), reserved any judgement on what's happened until we have more to base a judgement on. Think that's a reasonable stance we should all take. Your point is well made. The vitriol aimed at the Board is unhealthy, and unwise. Whilst emotions are running at fever pitch we need to advocate for calm and considered opinion.
