DWLC.I don't wish to get into any slagging match,I actually think you're one of the most reasonable posters. You talk about "sullying and besmirching our ex manager with zero evidence" then on another post you talk about turning your back on the pitch then something about silence. Is that a proper comment to make before the reasons are established. All I said and this goes both ways its no good anybody making judgements until the facts are out there.
Oh I'm not wanting a slanging match at all. I just feel (as I said initially, not necessarily aimed at you) that if people say comment shouldn't be made about the board, then that has to work both ways and comment shouldn't be made about Stendel either. The only things we have are journalists and people who generally have accurate information saying he was sacked, furthermore, there is no truth in any Sunderland rumour BEFORE his sacking. We have the dreadful 21 word statement. And we have history of just under 2 years of Lee/Conway/Consortium ownership. That's what I'm trying to judge this on. And I make no apologies for being critical of the owners statement and the transfer dealings, and indeed some other communications which have bitten them. I merely want consistency though, and I don't believe if a person asks for patience, they should then partake in potentially libellous comments about Stendel when there isn't a shred of evidence. To try and silence one line of thought and debate, while fuelling another which is of the same ilk, that's hypocrisy in all languages. I'm merely highlighting those points and not trying to grind any axe. And yes, I personally do feel a show of support for Daniel should be made and hopefully witnessed by the owners. If that's silence, singing, boycotting. I have no issue with that if people judge their actions leading to Stendels removal to be worthy of it.
Fair enough.I just hope whoever the board is and whoever the coach is we achieve our target of staying in this league.
This very sad incident make any target irrelevant to me now. Whether what league we're in, who we sign or sell, who our next manager is... at this point, I genuinely don't care, and as I touched on yesterday, at this point (and I reserve the right to be fickle and change my mind), relegation seems the fairest most logical outcome for the choices the board have made.
I dont normally speculate much, but it's not beyond the bounds of credibility that Sunderland have noticed our poor start to the season, and have simply been waiting for us to get rid of Stendel so that they could target him. Doesn't have to be any tapping up involved. Most struggling clubs sack the manager, so from the outside Stendel's departure is not entirely unexpected.
That's not the same thing as Sunderland being interested in them. I could throw mine in, but they wouldn't be rushing to interview me (their loss, obviously ).
