Just found this, not many signatures yet. I really can't see Daniel returning, but it would send a huge message to the board if it was well supported. I wonder if I should sign it? Mmmmmm….let me think... https://www.change.org/p/barnsley-fans-keep-daniel-stendel-and-sack-the-board-instead
If it were worded better I'd sign it. You can't sack a board of directors when the board are the owners as well. Well you can, but you're sacking yourselves!
Agreed, but I've signed it anyway. I got up this morning intending to start a petition myself, but my bloody laptop started doing updates and rendered itself unusable. By the time it got going again, this petition had already been created.
I respect you mate, but I couldn't disagree more. The events of the last few days are unprecedented in my experience. I hope it gets a million signatures.
This is plain silly. It’s rhubarb what’s happened to Stendel but imagine if they were pressed into reappointing him and results continued the same with no improvement in performance. Furthermore they chuck a few million his way, he signs 2 expensive older heads and 2 loanees in January that then don’t make a difference. Does he become unsackable. The board have dropped a booboo but it’s time to move on. I’ve seen many of my favourites move on over the years, a lot of the moves not making any sense, this is added to the list but it’s happened and that’s that.
The ones with the ability to allow the fans to move on are the owners. Until they resolve this situation through comment and communication, the hostility will build in large numbers. Even when anger and disgust subside, the perception of the owners will be diminished from where it was just months, weeks... even days ago. Nice should have told them this. Though they may judge that as a remarkable success and merely see the significant return on their investment when Ratcliffe completed the acquisition.
Agree with you 55. Nothing good will come of this vilification of the owners. Sad enough that DS has gone. He stuck to what he believed and so did the owners. As has been said before, there was only going to be one winner in that battle. No one is more emotional about the club than you two but it’s time to look to the future now.
Same for me mate, Was a fantastic man and a great manager but it would be unhealthy for him and the board to come back now. Time for the next man to come in and see what he can do under this regime.
Oh, ffs, grow up. I’m as gutted as anyone about Daniels demise, but it’s getting beyond a joke this now.
DWLC may be just may be they are bound by the contractual terms of Daniels departure and tied down in terms of what they can or can't say. in the same way that Daniel might be. I have metamorphosised into a long playing record.....it is not wise to jump to any conclusions until we know more. There are usually two sides to every story.
Sorry I won't be signing that, while I might agree with some of the sentiment behind it. Seems rather childish.
Genuinely interested to hear what you think they could say that would fix this for you. I'd hazard a guess that there's nothing.
They can comment about anything they like. They don't have to talk about the exact detail of his departure. But the complete radio silence just intensifies the disgust for a large number of people. Its convenient to assume there are legal aspects at play, but as i've said before, and others have too... legal restraints do not bind you to give such a dreadful statement and prevent you from thanking the person for their successes. The simple conclusions that I have come to are from their tenure to date and the way they have handled this with their statement, nothing more, nothing less. Only the owners can resolve this. if they don't and hope it just goes away of its own accord, they will be very surprised how bitter and embattled things could become for them.
