To be fair its quite likely that the players have been told not to comment. nothing good can come of what they say in any case whether they are delighted or gutted he has gone saying Its all conjecture at this stage but I would be quite surprised if he has been talking to Sunderland for weeks and I dont think he had lost the dressing room My guess and its only a guess is that the club management didnt like the criticism of the transfer policy and the repeated request for some experience and decided that to continue with Daniel wasnt going to work - Its a position I can understand the club taking even if I dont agree with it, but it still doesnt excuse the crass official statement
[QUOTE="Redhelen, post: 2363770, member: 122192") Given what s going off at Sunderland he obviously wasn't in contact with them You posted last night he told you he was off to Sunderland???
I point you towards my post of yesterday. The club have issued no statement which would offer any reassurance on the points therein.
Quite a lot of the players have commented but most of them use Instagram. Most of them have put up pictures of them and DS with comments along the lines of “thanks for everything boss”
No, I didn't think so either. Was very unsure as to why that was whipped up as a label against people, when there was no obvious example that I'd seen.
I really can’t be bothered because it’s going to turn into an argument about semantics, needless to say if you substituted “yank” for “paki” and said they weren’t trust worthy in a post like has been said on here, I’m sure it would get pulled. Tbf the Chinese abuse is on twitter but it is there.
Don't type in "yank" or "yanks" into the search tool, you'll definitely not find anything remotely disparaging of Americans. It doesn't exist. The herd gives life.
They're looking at other candidates too arent they? He had phone contact with them. Must be confident he ll get the job.
Which was almost identical to the Trust statement that was picked up by almost every national newspaper and all local media. The club are choosing to go the whole week not updating the fans, and with the International Break it wouldn't surprise if their plan is to roll with it and get the new guy in within days rather than weeks. Then the attention turns to the appointment. Smoke and mirrors.
There is no "further updates will follow" or words to that effect. As much as it appears like a holding statement, there is no indication it is. Separated is an odd choice of words too. Although that may just be a cultural thing.
This is the bit that is getting lost in translation. I don't believe anyone expected the club to release all the micro details about why they were 'separating' from Stendel. But absolutely nothing, legal or otherwise, was stopping then from giving their fans, the ones they need to stay with them because it's becoming more obvious by the week that the plan isn't working, a more respectful and informative update. What's wrong with the below? Even using their pathetic language for the opening line. ------------------------------------------- Barnsley Football Club confirms that it has separated from Daniel Stendel with immediate effect and current U18's coach Adam Murray has been appointed caretaker manager. Barnsley Football Club would like to go on record thanking Daniel Stendel for his time at Barnsley and the success he brought last season, but our attention now turns to the recruitment process for our next Head Coach as we look to achieve our objective of staying in the Championship. We'll be focused on supporting Adam and his coaching staff during the International Break, and encourage the supporters to fully get behind the players when we play Swansea on Saturday 19th October at Oakwell.
With the greatest of respect Loko, the Trust message was a general request for a statement which did not pick out the specific issues which I highlighted in my post. I would urge you to go back and read both. I understand that the Trust wish to retain a close relationship with the club for the overall benefit of all supporters and I respect this. I am more detached and quite prepared to take my custom elsewhere, which will probably not trouble those in charge of the club.
Sorry. I was referring to my interview on Radio Sheffield which went in to greater detail and mentioned those exact points you posted this morning. Nothing to do with being attached to the club, but Tuesday morning wasn't about picking out details, but being able to thank Daniel on behalf of the supporters. Wouldn't have been punchy and to the point if it had waffled on with numerous questions - that's for a fans forum meeting or meeting with the club.
If owners aren't going to put in out of their own pocket what's it matter if a billionaire or homeless guy owns the club if both will run it the same way in only spending what we make?
