If you think it's been a long season so far. It'll get even longer when the players give up. I know some Rotherham United fans and during their first relegation under Paul Warne they're season took a similar shape. Once the heads went down it was torture for them. A couple of wins could spark a fight though. I live in hope rather than expectation.
Seems a bit harsh all this Thiem bashing on here. Yes hes no where near the shape he was in last season but he wasn't as bad as people make out in games hes played. Thomas has just as little and wilks not much more. Seems to be letting his contract run out. Recon we will free transfer him in January.....
If it goes that way the give up will probably occur post Jan when the players left realise they are stuck here.
Or yours, or in fact anything any of the fans think about anything it would seem. Would seem Stendel and now Murray feel the same way about him though this season.
A bit like January 17 when Scowen, Moncur, Bradshaw, Armstrong, James, Watkins, Roberts and co played out dead rubbers until the end of the season.
On Thiam - he can certainly strike a ball and does have some silky skills but he just doesn't look up to it as an athlete at this level. Got away with it in League One. Hope he proves me wrong.. Maybe they've told him to go away and work on his fitness?
He has been here for two and a bit years and has been a big disappointment. If he ain't got fit by now he never will. We all wish he could come good but think it just won't happen.
I agree. I understand people have their favorites and that some players are not as good as others, but I hate to see our players ripped apart on here with such disdain. I hate my customers having such an avenue to rip my work apart. [EDIT] And poor old Thiam seems to be the whipping boy the last two seasons, which is sad for a guy who comes over as a real gent, and I'm sure he tries his best.
Totally agree. He’s a top lad. My post was simply if anyone knew why our potentially highest paid player, has not featured in the first team or U23s.
Apologies mate. Yours was a fair question; one which I myself have been wondering. It was more directed towards the responses.
To be fair his build and inability to run for more than 60 minutes does make him hard to use adopting our high press style, other than as a second half impact sub. I'm not sure he fits this style, but is a decent footballer & I think he gives it his all. It is puzzling when we've had two games a week he's not even on the bench, maybe he is carrying a knock, it's not been mentioned in interviews with Murray though. He certainly doesn't deserve to be a whipping boy.
Yup. I don’t think he fits the 3-5-2 either, unless upfront with Woodrow. Just wish the club would update the fans on it. If not injured, he has to be in the U23s to keep some kind of match fitness up for if he’s required.
