I can't vote for Corbyn or Johnson, as neither will be standing in my ward. Trump clearly doesn't understand the UK electoral system. Then again, his words indicate he doesn't understand lots of things.

 

To be fair he makes a great point.

I very rarely vote, I don't give a toss whether we leave, remain, go to the moon etc etc... however I'll vote this time, it's just who for that I'm struggling with. One things for sure I certainly won't be voting for labour.

 

If you genuinely don’t give a toss about the biggest issue affecting this country in our lifetime then you probably shouldn’t vote.

 

I actually agree with you, you're bang on the money infact. That's my view I've taken for the last 15 years that I've been able to vote, but when speaking to people all over this region when working is that most people seem to be saying the same thing, I can't vote Labour while he's in charge.

After alot of digging into JC I agree with what they're all saying, the man is not fit to govern this country. So I've been toying with the idea of voting this time, and my vote will be for whoever is the best equipped to make sure JC keeps as far away from No.10 as possible.

Won't be popular on here for saying that but that's how I feel. The man is a parasite, and he's the reason labour will not get into No.10.

 

I have the same MP as yourself, it's not Corbyn I have an issue with it is our MP. For me to consider voting Labour Id need someone other than John Healey to run.

Interesting isn’t it that you feel the need to keep JC away from No.10 but presumably couldn’t give a toss that the present incumbent is there because a few thousand Tory members voted for him? I’m not a Corbyn fan by any means, and I feel very let down, as a Remainer, by Labour’s approach, but to call him a parasite is, with respect, utterly ridiculous. Disagree with his party‘s policies by all means, but please don’t get taken in by the Daily Mail-type garbage.

Its a grim time really. Not just candidates. But policies. The mechanisms to support and propel lies and the absolute anger that its all wrapped up in.

I watched bbcqt and for me, you couldn't give a better summary of the situation than simply seeing Isabel Oakeshott on one side of the panel and Mairead McGuinness on the other.

A perfect example of modern populism fuelled by hate and division.... compared with reason, balance and openness.

Also worth noting how such audiences and media channels are being muddied and sullied. There were at least 5 Tory plants in the audience last night. Campaigners and councillors. All from well away from Birmingham so as to not be readily identified.

So many lies, falsehoods and underhand tactics aimed to influence the electorate.

 

With respect mate, I would have a look at each party's manifestos and what their intentions are before writing any party off. As you've said yourself, you don't take much interest in politics and it's worth mentioning that a party leader isn't the be all and end all and government is about the Cabinet and party at large. You vote for a party and an MP, not a leader so I wouldn't view it as a personality contest.

If you were to think about which party would be best for the people of Goldthorpe when in power, well it's certainly not going to be the Tories. Labour's proposals such as defending workers' rights, increasing wages, making housing, energy and transport managed to benefit its users not rich shareholders are all things worth looking at.

And in addition, I'd say have a think about who is criticising each party, each leader and their ideas and wherw their information is from, and what the producers of this information might stand to gain by denying them power.
