And I'm certain Labour's proposals regarding football club ownership will interest you!! https://news.sky.com/story/labour-v...ower-to-hire-and-fire-club-directors-11829352
You are dead right: this campaign will be run with rubbish floated by all sides. Social media could really dumb down the debate. Just a quick by the way question. You seem okay with a foreign politician taking to our media and throwing their two penn'th in. Why did we have an irish politician on question time? Trump interfering is bad enough
The problem in this day and age is that people see it as though it's the bloody X Factor or something- it shouldn't be a popularity contest, it should be based upon the respective party's manifesto that you place your vote. If you don't like that party's manifesto, fair enough- that is what democracy is all about.
I have no issue with foreign politicians having a say. Mairead McGuinness, as an EU MEP, has an insight into the politics of the EU and can give balance and insight. My issue is one of hypocrisy. The people who were up in arms when Obama made his "back of the queue" comment are also up in arms about the EU "meddling in our affairs".... yet I've not heard a peep from them about Trump and the most interventionist comments (that I can recall) a non British politician making... let alone at the time of a General Election. And herein lies the issue nowadays. Its about result, not fairness or consistency. The same people, if so angered by Obama, absolutely should be appalled Trump made his comments too.
No, a Trump-backed Boris is the best option for any Russian deal. Trump has previous with the Russians has he not?
QT has previously had politicians and ex politicians on the panel, but not world leaders taking sides in our GE.
If I could’ve pressed that golden button where the glitter and such comes falling down, I would’ve done
If you support labour yes but unfortunately there's loads of plonkers out there who like trump so i can't really see this having much of a positive or negative influence.
Have a read of this the government is currently suppressing: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/oct/31/boris-johnson-accused-report-russia-dominic-grieve
Just as a side note.... I was over in Hackney last week and had to try a beer called FukWit by deviant and dandy.... no idea why that sprang to mind ;-)
The problem I have is there are things in all party manifesto's I dont like - But its not that simple - Its also whether you trust the party to implement their promises, and the way their MP's and leader behave. I am not a Corbyn fan and under normal cicumstances would find it difficult to vote for Labour with him in charge, I cant say I am a great fan of Swinson either but Boris and the Tories are a completely different level of bad. They have normalised dishonestly and even if their manifesto promised great things I wouldnt believe it The damage the Tories would do to this country given an overall majority in the house would take decades to fix - and some of it may be unfixable - eg Ireland uniting outside the UK -Scotland leaving the UK - both of which are likely in that case. Their pursuit of a hostile country to non white not Brits is abhorrent and the way they treat disabled and sick is bad now but will only get worse. I expect them to persue leaving the EU with no real deal in place as it will hamper their plans to join with the USA which would be far worse for the average person. I will be honest and say my vote will go to whichever party I think stands the best chance of returning a non tory MP - In Farnham thats the Lib Dems - though I think its a long shot as Jeremy Hunt has a huge majority - Farnham isnt exactly marginal. If I was somewhere that Labour or even Green stood the best chance I would vote for them - this time. The words of Neil Kinnock in 1983 when facing more Thatcher are very applicable today - in fact more so as I think Boris and the current Tories are even worse than Thatcher and her party ever were - and that's saying something https://speakola.com/political/neil-kinnock-i-warn-you-campaign-1983 The summary at the end pretty much sums it up If Margaret Thatcher wins on Thursday– If Boris Johnson Wins – I warn you not to be ordinary – I warn you not to be young – I warn you not to fall ill – I warn you not to get old.
Unsurprisingly, this is as far as it will go, at least not this side of the GE. Had JC been involved it would’ve already had Tabloid headlines
Does Palestine exist or is it a prison surrounded by Israel? Russia is led by a right wing dictator. China has no freedom of speech allied with draconian punishment.
