This type of analysis is far over stated. They will turn out and then back to their electric blankets, pipes and mulled wine quite quickly
Personally I'm awaiting all the parties manifestos....mind you I read the Tory's whist studying O Levels...written by a bloke called Charles Dickens I believe...
The Tories will win the election based largely on the 'Corbyn is a Marxist ditherer' line. Labour will also get squeezed between the hard brexit brigade and the Lib Dems. Although Johnson is a racist liar, the Tories have polarized society, the inequalities in our country are overtly disgraceful and our institutions are under threat they will still win. The only hope for Labour is if the Brexit party contest seats and IF Corbyn can gradually erode the Tory lead in the polls by effective campaigning. I think Labour are in a bad place however and unlike the last election won't be able to claw things back. Tory win...crap brexit deal, erosion of workers' rights, further growth in inequality, undermining of nhs, isolation on the international stage, more food banks, more homelessness, more mental health issues and suicides.... Just a guess of course. Hang on though, at least we will have taken back control.....!!
Same applies to Tories though. It’s a well-researched fact that voting intention is overwhelmingly influenced by who your parents voted for.
In my post. Didnt you read it But also a good article here. But the truth is the NHS is already being privatised, just look how much has been outsourced and privatised. The NHS wont be sold as a complete entity bur services, access to pharam, equipment etc will be and is already. So i think this is a published example if how discussions to access the NHS by the US Orgs is underway https://www.theguardian.com/comment...style-healthcare-nhs-patients-election-health My close to sell off was perhaps far fetched but since the Health and Social Care Act 2012 under introduced under Cameron the door was opened to private company's taking control over NHS services. Virgin to name but one. So the US insurance system and medi-care providers see Brexit as opening the door wider for their engagement too.
Isn’t that because most people are in the same socio-economic position as their parents? With social mobility in the UK reducing, and given that broadly speaking political parties occupy the same space politically as they did 75 years ago, then it doesn’t seem rocket science to see voting that same way as your parents is going to happen. Given the fact that your parents are also key to your social and/or economic view of the world then again you are more likely to vote the same way... However that being said looking at the big single item currently on the agenda, the old are more brexity and young more remainy. This seems to contradict this view.
Well my socio-economic status is utterly different to my parents. But I was instilled with a set of values that totally rule out voting Tory.
