I can't see any decent known manager coming anywhere near us, it will have to be some random lesser league european coach who is desperate to get a job managing in England or maybe a coach at league two or lower league one level. They aren't gunna have any input into transfers, they can see the squad we have is literally playing at it's maximum level as is and doesn't really have any short term upside, likely to sell one or two players again in January
One thing they could try is to be honest, admit they've made a complete pig's breakfast of running the club, apologise to the fans for disillusioning them, apologise to the young squad for setting them up to fail, apologise to Daniel Stendel for treating him with disdain, and wipe the slate clean. Get Daniel back, rely on the players keeping up their monumental efforts until January, don't sell anyone, buy a couple of experienced players, loan a couple of others, then give it a right go in the second half of the season. Nope. As you say, no way back.
We don't know that they're even looking for a manager (head coach) . There's been no statement of intent. We don't know if they've invited applicants. There's been no official statement since the announcement that BFC and Stendel have 'separated'. We don't know if Stendel continues to be employed by the club, because separated does not mean an end of contract.
We have got managers that pick the players, pick the system and formation, we also have a nodding donkey to look after little uns and bring em on nowt else needed is there. They`ve got it covered.
Agreed. 1 defeat in 4 under Murray isn't a bad statistic in the greater scheme of things, especially considering the opposition team value. I think a win against Stoke would help Murray be mint in the owners eyes.
I think with Murray and Devaney we have a strong staff to bring the club on but i would like Nathan Jones come in and keep our backroom staff. Jones could be perfect for us.
I think they will bring someone in regardless of results. If not it may be construed as a lack of confidence in the 'recruitment team'.
Given that the plan of the owners is to buy young improve and sell on, surely the owners would base their opinion on the effectiveness of a coach on his ability to add value to their player acquisitions. In other words, has the coach increased the value of the players during his tenure. In order to do that, the Coach must obviously be good at the job of coaching. There are obviously lots of ways in which you judge that sort of thing. He must have all the relevant qualifications. He must have a good reputation within the game. He must be a good communicator. The question is, how high on the list of priorities will things like motivation and man management be. They are important parts of the game, and they can make a difference between winning and losing, but do those things make the player a better player? Do they increase the value of a player on the open market?
how he’s done at Stoke isn’t especially relevant. He took a bigger job with lots of inherent problems and failed. At Luton he took a similar sized club and was very successful. Our challenge is realistically the same to get us out of L1 next year. Of course he won’t get it anyway so a pointless discussion
I hope we go for nathen jones, but the swedish league finished on Saturday so that ashbagi bloke is my guess they be announcing soon, have they kept it quiet till he managed his last game out of respect.
Draws against three top six opponents has been a positive. Losing a two-goal lead has been offset by coming back from two goals down. The only blemish has been losing to a team near the bottom, which we really needed to win. However, in all fairness, we did encounter Huddersfield when they seem to have just turned the corner with 3Ws and 2Ds out of the last five.
