To answer your question I honestly don't believe there is much in it. The Tories are poring ever increasing sums of money in but it will never be enough. Labour might promise a few billion more for all I know but in percentage terms that amount to another 1 or 2% increase. Not hugely different. Last time Labour were in power they went on a massive build program but it all funded by PFI and trusts are now tied in to ludicrous long term crippling deals. But hey, the Tories are always the enemy.

Based on my personal experience there has been a vast difference post 2010, and certainly those that I know who work in the NHS have said that it is at crisis point.

Personally I have always been hugely critical of PFI, it was a flawed expensive way of borrowing money. However the country's public services were on their knees in 1997 and desperately needed investment.

This should have been funded through progressive taxation, not part privatisation. Luckily Labour's policies are now predicated on the former.

Ridiculous. So you would be happy for people to call for you to lose your job because someone who used to work for you is alleged to have wronged someone. Not you. Not even someone who even still works for you.

The reason Venezuela is in trouble is because of sanctions , nothing to do with supposed government policy .

    https://www.bloomberg.com/amp/news/...deny-maduro-s-bid-to-pull-1-2-billion-of-gold

For example they are being denied access to their own money by foreign powers such as the UK / US to buy food and medicines . I'd check out max Blumenthal or Greg pallast , 2 journalists who have done extensive work exposing the truth about Venezuela .

I think it will be hilariously ironic if the Brexit Party stop Brexit.

My feeling is we are heading for another hung parliament, with maybe a few less Labour MPs & a few less Tory MPs, gains for SNP & Lib Dems. Brexit Party splitting some of Tory & Labour votes. Could also see the DUP losing a few seats as well, the usual result of being in some sort of pact (not a coalition technically). It seems a lot of younger voters in the "remain" area of Northern Ireland are more concerned about economic factors than sectarian ones.

    Stasis.

I'm a Labour supporter, as many will know, but this is how I see it. It won't solve a thing with regards where the country is going. The only solution is cross party work on brexit & then move on.

There are over 2.5 million serving or ex servicemen out there, I come from a mining background of generations, however having served my country i will never ever vote labour again whilst Corbyn is in charge, you can say it is media driven but we all know Corbyn`s history with the IRA and Palestinian pictures.

There are somewhere between 46 & 50 million people entitled to vote in the country. I'm not sure you speak for the entire 2.5 million serving / ex service personnel, if those figures are accurate (I'd be surprised if it was that many, although most will be in the 60-80 year old category & mostly more conservative as a result). You are entitled to your view.

whilst respecting your view we don’t all know the truth behind any pictures. We are never explained any of them, it’s how it works, don’t lie... let them assume. You’ve basically admitted in your post it’s media driven. That alone would at least start to get me wondering....

And anyway, there are many threads about Corbyn, leave this one alone whilst we point out how ******* awful human beings the tories are.

Come on lads n lasses. A difference in politics is one thing but no one can surely describe the Labour Party’s policies as Socialist. Good grief. Don’t people know their history - ancient and modern. Current policy is no more than Social Democrat.

It says something for the shift in the political equilibrium in the last thirty years that so many have their heads in their hands screaming ‘left wing’. They are nothing of the sort.

Labour policies would make us less left wing than Germany, who are theoretically centre right in terms of their government. It is all relative. I have to go along with democracy. If they vote Johnson in, good luck to a lot of people in our town & in most of the north of England. I'm a clever bloke & I'll be OK.

That’s the thing. In a western European context, the Labour Party have a simple centrist set of policies. It’s a nonsense to suggest otherwise.
