Every year, my wife hosts a free event for people in the area who might not get the chance to feel that much Christmas cheer. It's on 21st December 1-4pm at Holy Rood Church Hall, just off Pitt Street in Town Centre. It's free to attend, funded by donations & staffed by volunteers, and provides music from local acts (supported by One Over The 8), a great spread from the wonderful Dodworth Deli & a little gift to all who attend. It's designed to support those who might be feeling isolated at a difficult time & the one thing you can guarantee is a dance & a chat to someone for a couple of hours surrounded by lots of lovely people. Every year it gets bigger & this year spaces are filling up quick. If you know someone who could do with cheering up & getting out of the house or fancy coming along yourself, DM me or contact us on https://www.facebook.com/BarnsleyFestiveFeast/ or barnsleyfestivefeast@gmail.com. Cheers.
Best thing posted on here for many a moon!! Hope all goes well, and give yourself and your good wife a huge pat on the back.
Dyson- sent you a PM. My brother works in confectionery wholesaling and can help you out both supplying and subsidising. D
Not seen one mate, could you email us at barnsleyfestivefeast@gmail.com? That sounds class if possible!
Bump. Does anyone know of anyone who works in care homes or has links to groups/charities supporting elderly particularly but anyone we think could do with an hour or two of company? Let me know - really wanna fill it this year so any any help appreciated.
Massive thanks to your brother mate, £350 donation from his gaff & a supplier. It's great this place when it's not about football. Thanks a lot.
