He doesn’t have the statutory length of service for an unfair dismissal claim it could only be wrongful dismissal which is contractual I don’t see how the statement that was made can have any connection to the manner of his dismissal or have been based on legal advice
I may be wrong here but the comment sold 3 to bring in 12 players . Did we not show a 11 million profit in the accounts mainly due to sell on clauses
Idiotic post. Well the last bit anyway. If you don’t think our back line would benefit from a bit of experience in with them that’s your opinion, but don’t be saying that any fan is suggesting we sign old players. Experience isn’t necessarily akin to aged 37 and legs gone.
Knowt wrong wi Experience, wouldnt mind a few oldies running rarnd Oakwell showing this shower a s hite, r its supposed to be done.
Come on Troff, the last bit was sarcastic..... The top bit isn’t though. Couldn’t do much about the 3 leaving. And makes sense for Thiam and Pinnillos to go if not in plans. If you read previous posts, folks make out we’re having a big clear out in Jan
This point which keeps getting repeated about all of the proceeds from player sales being reinvested into the squad seems like a bit of clever spin to me. That's fair enough, sounds great. But then where is the c.£8million from TV money and all other revenue streams going? Surely the wage bill and matchday operations don't amount to that?
How many times do people have to be told that the problem isn’t the players leaving as much as the club’s incompetence replacing them.
That's a big problem for me. Fans get attached to players. They get their names on their shirts, they get autographs and selfies, they follow players on social media. They may even get to know them personally. Then they get sold, and "it's time for new heroes". Football is about emotions, and many fans are struggling to accept why their heroes have to keep leaving. It's utterly, totally, demoralising.
Would have been softened if they’d been replaced and we were winning games I’d wager. As it stands we get neither. As for 95% of monies reinvested talked about elsewhere in this thread, if folk believe that they’ll believe anything. Unless they count the dividends they take through the club as ‘reinvested’.
These are the two specific tweets I was referring to in my post, so that people can form their own interpretations of them.

Regarding players that will attract interest, if certain markers are ultimately met (on bids) then have to be looked at. No players have release clauses. Don’t want to sell. We sold 3 in the summer to afford 12 coming in. All transfer income going on squad costs.
— Matchday Drinkers (@BFCDrinkers) November 6, 2019

January - those with heavy contracts might be moved on if not in the picture. Squad needs to be trimmed as club recruits. Plans for one or two to booster squad to ‘make the difference’.
— Matchday Drinkers (@BFCDrinkers) November 6, 2019

Even the players who aren't quite good enough to be heroes keep leaving too! I'm fully expecting to visit the ground one day and see a floodlight missing because someone put a bid in for a bit of scrap metal.
Agree. The worst part of this - is that we have had to SUFFER 14 years of a revolving door transfer policy that has seen literally dozens of players going through the club - that if they had stayed would have probably established the club in the Premeir. These new owners have money so we all thought that this revolving door policy would cease to exist. But it hasn’t. HUGE HUGE disappointment amongst fans that these so called wealthy owners have to sell players to raise money to buy other players. Prime the pump.
For me the statement about 'those with heavy contracts might be moved on if they're not in the picture' explains why Thiam, Pinillos and Bahre aren't in the picture.
Just to clarify a few of the posts on the thread. I asked DM (in % terms and not £ terms as I felt better chance of getting an answer) how much of the EP, KM, BP. LL etc transfer fees had been reinvested in the squad~team. He said 95% had on tranfer~agent fees, wages. So you'd summise that any Jan business would require to be financed either by player sales or board investment. As for the promotion kitty, well that's gone on the other parts of the club. Maintainance, pitch, academy, bills etc. To clarify aswell.it wasn't a happy clappers convention contrary to some people's thoughts. 20 odd clued up, passionate and disallusioned fans wanting answers. In the most part we got them. Some may not have liked what they heard but other than the DS which they've been legally advised not to comment until the `issue' is resolved one way or another. DM was genuinely of the opinion they should really have acted differently. Ps ~
Thiam and Pinnillos are both out of contract in summer and are understandable anyway. Don’t think Bahre is out of contract and possibly, depending who you ask, has the possible quality to play at this level in the right position. A lot of our squad have been rendered useless due to going to a 3-5-2. Although I do think it’s the right call. The 3 above can’t play wing-backs.
