With Remembrance Sunday & Armistice Day approaching, just days before the end of World War I, former Barnsley FA Cup Final winger Wilf Bartrop was killed in action on 7th November 1918.
None of them shouldve been killed in that War. Any international conflict should be settled with the two respective kings/PM's having a duel to the death.
The loss of life in any conflict is heart breaking but I feel more for those lost during the First World War. Sent out into no mans land into heavy machine gun fire to certain death.
Well done JLW for posting this message - In the small Welsh village where I was born is a Memorial to four local boys who were killed in WW1. Like Bartrop they would have had no idea of the horrors facing them. We should not forget them!
