He had the last laugh with the morons booing him for an opinion he's entitled to. The boos only motivated him even more and when the second went in and he incited the Ponte end those who had gave him stick all game got their handbags out as they didn't like getting a bit back.
Out of interest, France's flower of remembrance is the cornflower (bleuet). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bleuet_de_France Also, did you know that all money raised from poppy sales in Scotland is spent in Scotland (http://www.poppyscotland.org.uk/get-involved/scottish-poppy-appeal/poppy-faqs/)? Which doesn't seem fair to me so when I'm up there I donate to the British Legion online instead which has meant I've not worn one some years. Just because someone isn't wearing one doesn't necessarily mean they don't respect the cause or even that they've not contributed to the appeal.
He stood in line with fellow players but then turned his head away from the soldiers and trumpet player. Everyone has a choice, whether we like it or not i guess.
He certainly seems to be someone with issues. But like you say Icer he is making his choice. But you would not have noticed had you not been looking for his reaction. Up to him.
I won’t wear a poppy. I utterly respect and honour the men and women who have served and suffered in wars that have been manufactured by royalty and/or politicians for their own ends (although I do accept that we were left with no option other than to oppose Hitler) I simply object to being told by the self-appointed virtue-signallers that I must.
I judged him on his performance today ...and if he was inspired...it didnt show. I thought he was poor throughout but he did old man the penalty.
Yes actually i didn't realise he was playing and only after I spotted someone who turned his head realised he was playing too. I have been away so this thread i hadn't spotted either.
Fair play to him. I won’t wear a poppy either. People were it for different views. Everyone’s a terrorist but when Britain do it. It’s called been a hero. Foook off!!!!!!
Absolutely spot on. I have no problem at all with him not wearing it. It's his choice, he has his own reasons and that's his right.
Watched the Dundee derby last night and noticed that players from both teams were wearing the poppy but the officials wern't...why???
He is entitled to his opinion and I dont mind anyone choosing not to wear a poppy bet half the people booing him didnt have one on. But with mclean he gets peoples backs up by glorifying McGuinness and like today stood away from the rest of his team in the silence
