I don't know the ins and outs, apparently all of you do, you know EXACTLY how our owners think and feel. But I assume they didn't want to sell, but what choice is there if players don't want to be here? That goes for our previous owners too.
I doubt there are many out there willing to buy the club, and I still haven’t a clue why the current owners did so. However, the current situation is very different to previous years. We have always been competitive in the Championship at least, with a chance of survival. This season we haven’t really even had a go. The recruitment has been so naive as to be laughable. We’re miles off, it’s embarrassing and looks like it will be a record low points total for Barnsley. In the face of that situation the owners and CEO are largely silent, showing a complete and utter lack of respect for the fans who pay their hard earned cash to watch the team. I agree that changing the owners isn’t necessarily the solution, as it more than likely wouldn’t improve the situation. The answer for me, and for many others I fear, may be to walk away with a heavy heart accepting that in modern football the club can’t compete at this level any more. I won’t pay these prices to watch League One football as the standard is so inferior. I’d rather watch Worsbrough Bridge for a fiver...
Sensible comment. Although I like to be a little more optimistic and think at some point we CAN compete in this league. I agree they shouldn't be so silent.
"you have to make the decision based on what might happen tomorrow. Offers could not be there next time you look" We sold because we wanted to because offers might not be there after.
Ooh that's a difficult one. Oh yes... for a start they might sanction the signings of some experienced players and resume loan signings.
And then sell, and then recruit loads. Sack a successful manager. Then go into ******* hiding when the go and gets tough
They are financially well of so why buy a club to make a little more money, I think we need to make our concerns known but not want them to sell as who else will buy us and plough money in.
Yeah I forgot Conway was keeping all the clean sheets not Davies and it was Lee and Beane knocking the goals in not Woodrow and Moore.
I forgot it was Conway today who missed that chance vs Huddersfield. Who didn't give us a penalty today that we deserved. Who couldn't score against Nottingham Forest despite dominating the game. This logic works both ways.
I think you may find not all of us was in that boat. Keep what we had and add where necessary was my stance. Not recruit an entire team. Again. Which is what I was so against every year with the last regime. You cannot have the turnover we have and expect to be successful. Have a look. I openly stated that whilst I may have deemed that what we brought in may be exciting, I was very concerned that 13 players would gel straight away. I didn't give a thought to the level of ability we may have brought in such was the excitement of the owners... I won't make that mistake again either.
Well that's just a lie isn't it. I could pull one thread about Moore leaving an example of people not being happy with our transfers in the summer. http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/keiffer-moore.281792/
