Yep, take Stoke, which I know slightly different cos of parachutes etc but Clucas is on £35k + bonuses a week, the lad who came on as sub Diuof? Is on nearly £70k.
If by that you mean that they wouldn’t have performed for us l don’t buy that at all. Ethan Pinnock s nothing if not an hard working professional who would have knuckled down and given his all. Moore had 18 months left on his contract so he could hardly complain if he was retained until January. He is also a grafter. Re Lindsay, I had my doubts whether he could perform in the championship and his career at Stoke is doing nothing to dispel those doubts.
Don't disagree with any of that and it explains why we are where we are. We are League 1 and to get to, and stay in, the championship (without serious outside investment) is some challenge.
Pinnock, Lyndsay and Moore we're all under contract to play for us this season so of course we could afford them. We just choose to cash in and roll the dice again.
We need to tweak the plan and have a more balanced group of players. A bit like what clubs have been doing for the last 100 years.
You’re probably right but they offer better wages than us to compete. They have their multi millionaire owner to thank for that
Based on this post and how the players who have left us have performed in this division, it looks like we may have done good business in selling them. The shock of losing the experienced players affected the balance of the team has cost us. Maybe we’ll have a season of two halves? The most frustrating thing about our current owners is that you get the feeling that they don’t need us as fans, because they’re well heeled and the money is coming from player sales. I also get the feeling that they don’t think they need to please us either.
Don't know why you are commenting on these players when it is clearly the clubs policy which led to these players leaving and I would include Potts in that
Look, if these players had wanted to stay then they could have, they were all under contract. However it is plain to see that judging from their performances since leaving, none of them are championship material
