is looming I would say chalk **** on it and rebuild for next year BUT what is the actual point, soon as we rebuild a good side again and get promoted be it next season year after or whatever, the owners will promptly sell half the team in the summer after and bring in lower league youngsters and we're right back here again
I know you mean that as a fan, but it could also be a quote from a potential new manager, explaining why he didn't want the job.
I didn't find out the final score until yesterday at my parents over Sunday dinner. I gathered we'd lost at least 2-4 because I turned off soccer special just after Schmidt's goal went in. The official confirmation didn't seem to matter though.
Yeah nail on head - been feeling this way since Hourihane & co left. What’s the point? The owners need to wise up to the damage player sales does. Look at Peterborough: not as much success on the pitch but look at the players they keep hold of! An owner with a bit of determination (even if he is a ****)
I stated this a while ago What's the point in a club building a good team with a good manager, and these ******* sell them to line their pockets We the fans get a **** deal all the way down the line We are spending good money home and away, cold weather and wind, come rain where as they turn up to sandwiches and a drink in comfort when they decide to come. Then walk out after fourth goal. It is a completely **** set up and system to progress out of lower league football. Only league managers desperate for a job will take it on. Foreign managers wanting to hone their skills in English football will apply Either way it is no good to us or them We deserve better than this crew
While on this subject, if they pack their bags and go, they are business people, they will find a buyer. There are people wanting to get in and if they change the system then whoever they are has got to be better than this situation
I saw some worrying traits on the pitch even during our promotion last season. We were outplayed by Coventry and Shrewsbury at home and were hanging on at home to Bristol Rovers. Last season was good in the main but we were far from world beaters.
I used to think he was a **** but I respect how he runs the club. Gets quite a lot right imo. I assume they're solvent?
Always at the right end of L1 though, and with much smaller crowds. Imagine Peterborough’s resolve and bargaining ability with our scouting model - then you’d really be onto something.
