The club will get a fine because there isnt much else that can be done. Im sure these owners will understand and pay it for us or it might just come out of the 5% transfer kitty thats left. Its a shame, wasted money and doesnt put us in a good light, which is already quite dim.
I went to watch my son play football on sunday I was the only dad from both teams to be actually wearing a poppy neither coaches had one on, we all took part in the silence but I didnt start marching round asking people why they weren't wearing on. Poppys are optional we dont live in China.
The Poppy fascists are out in force again. Why should he respect the British forces who killed his own? I certainly wouldn't. Fair play to the guy.
The reason our troops fought and died was for the freedom of the people. Freedom gives people the right to make their own choices, i wear a poppy with pride, i don't judge those who choose not to wear one.
I dont agree with his position but I certainly understand why he would take it. What right do some people from another country to him with no experience of his upbringing have to insist he does something which should be voluntary, because its what they do.
By the same token, why should the British respect a terrorist organisation who killed innocent people at a remembrance day parade.
They don't even do it themselves. "why you booing him?" "because he refuses to wear poppy" "you're not wearing one you sackless cn*t"
I expected a warning over the tannoy when McLean had a word with the ref, then the ref signalled the 4th official and then made his notes. Wished they'd rather get behind our team than focusing on the opposition players.
I would say that songs about pope and ira get sung at many grounds every weekend I've been going oakwell since boit 75,/76 season fans sung it then n still do to this day must say tho hear it more at awsy games now than home games
Feel free to make your feelings known during 'IRA Remembrance Day' in England. Or you could just shout it any old home game, and conflate it with your dislike of Leeds United.
Would those be the same British Forces that lost their lives to ensure he could enjoy the free life he does now?
It was sung but tbh although I can see his pov I fail. o see why its racist in the same way that being anti the israeli govt s actions re appropriating land from the Palestinians is anti semitic. Not all Catholics support the IRA anyway.
Whereas I heard constant booing of McClean for the first half, along with anti IRA and fenian b*stard chants. Unless someone behind me was playing it on their phone in my ears for 45 minutes. Think it only stopped because we were getting stuffed and the crowd turned on the board and then the majority left as the 4th goal went in
