Video the ponte, everyone seen singing about Diaby's **** or the ira etc goes into the hat for a banning order raffle.
I understand all of that Marlon, both grandads were miners as well as soldiers in WW2, but if we’re branded as bigoted for booing McClean just because he’s irish, why doesnt the same apply to shouting scab at the forest fans just because their from nottingham ??
It’s ok for you to disagree with me, it’’s not ok to call me a racist. When we go to court we talk about the facts & evidence we present to support our case. We don't talk about interpretation. There is no evidence of racism in my posts, perhaps you need to look the word up before throwing it about, then have a long hard think about using it inappropriately again.
Peter Sutcliffe was a murderer. He was white, had dark hair and sported a beard. Are all people with beards murderers? Or does it have to be a dark beard? Or do they have to be white and have a beard, and it be dark? Or is it just that all white people are murderers? See how ridiculous a brush can be when its used to tar everything?
Racist a person who is prejudiced against or antagonistic towards people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.
I wasn’t pulling you up on the Collins issue although I disagree with you on that that’s your concern . My point was all the other bit about only hating the Tory’s for the miners strike after all they have done to us and our ancestors .
I know that you’re very passionate about your views Marlon, I don’t always agree with you but on many things I do. The old boys club is alive and well thats true, but I also believe that it’s up to the individual to an extent
Good work, now, compare and contrast my post against the definition and your accusation against my post. In no more than 200 words explain any part of my post which showed prejudice based on race or ethnicity. You can leave early on Friday if you do well.
It is up to the infividual but if someone has a head start on you because their fathers were connected is that right? If it were purely on ability I’d agree but it certainly is not and imo anyone who thinks we have a level playing field and thinks the best people are in the job because of ability rather than connections are misled to say the least . I just can’t believe that you are seeing what is happening and not questioning why ? Fair enough I know your not deep into politics and that’s fair enough but come on don’t be a cap doffer all your life . Ask some questions you might surprise yourself .
You’re entirely missing the point chap, McClean was booed because of his stance on the act of remembrance. Not because he’s irish.
I don't disagree at all Marlon but it works like that at all levels, how many dads, uncles, mates get their sons, families, friends a job ? A leg up on a much lower scale I agree, but ut happens at our level as well as theirs.
You can be who you want to be. Whether true or pretend. You can put whatever words out into the public domain you like. People will judge you from the words you put out. If you can read the definition of racism and not see correlation with being hostile in words and actions against an Irishman, nor from your comments about the miniscule amount of muslim people who have been radicalised, then those are your choices and its completely within your hands. You can be as much of a condescending arse as you like, they wont change the words you've typed, or how people will judge them.
Sure. You're just misunderstood by anyone moderate, I know how it is. Anyway, I'm not wasting my time with you. You can join Marlon on the ignore list. Ciao.
But some jobs that can happen because the person is so unconnected by friends , disability or relatives that these are helped . I’m talking about the top jobs . The military is a fine example thousands of lives have been lost because people were in jobs because of connection rather than ability . The top Generaks get away with it by being hushed into the background as did the top priests in the churches . How many tales of ordinary soldiers have you heard whereby they officers who were given commands because of privilege list the plot and the Sergeants etc took over because they understood the situation more than the officer but couldn’t get further up the military because they didn’t go to the right schools . Ps The current prime minister is a great example a complete buffoon who is only where he is because of connections and the privilege of the school he went to . He’s where he is because others with more sinister agendas are propping him up but they’ll expect reward .
So there’s no evidence but you’re not big enough to hold your hands up and admit you were out of order then. I’d think twice next time before preaching tolerance with one hand and demonstrating intolerance of opposing views with the other.
As a young man I applied to Sandhurst, may as well have applied to shag Princess Anne. Completely closed shop. I was told by the brigadier who interviewed me that what he didn't want was a young man from Baaarnsley thinking he could just turn up when other young men came from families with a long military history and went to schools who had their own cadet detachments. His advice was to go to university and join the TA while I was there. In other words bog off oik this is for the rich kids.
That’s exactly the point I’m making but people are accepting this as normal when it shouldn’t be. Whatever happens in this election it’ll not change the status quo but one side will enhance it , Boris owes a lot of people for getting the Moron to where he is especially the media barons and some commentators Boris is a serial liar and all these policies for the NHS will unravel before our eyes Boris will be sacrificed once his use is expired and another wannabe will step forward .
What about the blokes in the East Stand, heads purple with rage as explained earlier, who were shouting abuse at him along the lines of "Irish Fenian C U Next Tuesday"?. Playing it down as "booing" or "IRA songs" might suit your narrative, but a lot of us heard the hatred, bigotry and racism spewing from the mouths of our own fans; and for those of us who come from Irish backgrounds (not IRA supporters by the way) it was hard to take and not something I wanted to hear myself, or for kids/grandkids to hear, who are brought up to be proud of their Irish heritage.
I don’t doubt any of it, my regret is that the labour party have gone and blown it with their choice of corbyn as leader and the rise of momentum which for me is militant tendency in another name. May and Boris, we should have p1ssed it. But alas ...
