Fantastic. Also showing signs saying there's no place for Racism and " welcome to our English friends". Total respect for every one of their fans.
No. That was in the 1890s when the sultan of Zanzibar declared war on the British empire at 11 o'clock in the morning. A battleship in the bay fired off a few rounds half demolishing his palace and he surrendered at 1110. The royal navy billed him for the cost of the shells as part of the terms
Cheers mate, wrote from memory as i read it in guniness book of records when i was a kid. Didnt build largest empire in history by being mr nice guy did we?
Best of luck to them inn the play offs. In fairness to them, they've not been a FIFA recognised side for very long and already they are twice the side Scotland are!
Credit where it's due, Kosovo played football as it should be played. Some of their phases were impressive. They also played the game in the right spirit as well. No kicking the ball away, dissent, deliberate cynical fouls etc. An honourable nation with a team to be truly proud of.
Well we did participate in an illegal bombing campaign to help them ethnically cleanse part of a sovereign country. I’ll look forward to the first Kurdistan international...oh wait that’s never going to happen because our “fight for democracy” doesn’t quite stretch that far- when it’s Turkey burning villages.
Think you’ll find it was they who were being ethnically cleansed in the first place . And the sovereign country you speak of weren’t fit to oversee a diverse part of their country whilst harbouring war criminals of Nazi proportions .
Prior to the illegal bombing Serbian forces were largely engaged in military operations against the KLA. There were few refugees at this stage, the bombing destroyed civic society and all attempts to keep the ethnic diversity together. Virtually all ethnic cleansing occurred ( on both sides) after “NATO” ( ie The USA and Britain acting unilaterally) sent the planes in. And they knew it would happen.
Did you today and watch in the ground? I ask because we only got 600 tickets so I'm interested in how hard they must have been to get hold of. First refusal must have been a ridiculous quota like proving you have been to every qualifier, the last world cup, the last euros and been a supporters club member for the last decade.
Hardly a mention of the brave lads and lasses who went there to help, and the horrors they discovered. I salute them all. Shame on those who defend the right of others to disrespect their memory.
