… and I know that they appear that they are not listening, but I have good reason to believe they watch this board, and I know they are very active on Twitter and other social media. Let's get something going they might take notice of (or at least might get reported). The club is in the biggest mess in my lifetime. There is no need for this. Maybe we could get this trending? #separatedfrombfc Whatever it may be. Silence has gone on too long. Fans need to let their feelings show.
I have suffered far worse times than this. I will moan and groan and complain this season. But maybe next season I'll be joyful and positive. I will keep on supporting the team out on the Oakwell pitch no matter what. Thousands of others will too. It's what I prefer to do.
Turning up - for the first time in my life, that's in the bag. And social media stuff starts to hurt when it reaches the mainstream media. Took ages at Blackpool, but there's an example.
We're presently bottom of "League 2". In the 60's and 70's, we were often to be found in League 4. And we certainly weren't passing it around like we did tonight. Granted, we had the crunching tackle to get us by. Plus we didn't have the need to know what was going on off the pitch. We only turned up for the match. If you still just watch the football and don't pine for anything else, we're not that bad. In comparison to what's gone before.
The problem is, they don't care what we think. I honestly believe that. They honestly don't care. They're f***ing incompetent at running a football club. You only have to look at the league table to see the evidence for that. They've not got the foggiest, tiniest clue what their mistakes are. They don't appear to realise that they're out of their depth. Dunning-Kruger, here's the proof that your theory is spot on. These people appear to honestly believe they are good at what they do. Many of us on here have played football at some level. Looking back, each time I was lucky enough to play in a team which got promotion, what happened? We recruited better players, because we would be playing better teams. Sometimes that affected me, and I had to find a new team. What do these people do? They get promotion in a record breaking season, then they intentionally weaken the team. Yep, they're f***ing incompetent.
I don't know how long you've been watching the reds, but this run is the worst in 60 years. Of course we've been in administration and we've been relegated several times, and have seen some poor teams, but this is different gravy because these owners clearly think this is the way forward, and that makes me feel more despondent than I ever have about watching the reds. In short, our owners want us to fight tanks with pea shooters, and they think that's acceptable.
The biggest problem is that these owners have no sporting ambition or aspirations, only financial ones.
I genuinely admire your positivity. I just can't feel the same given that we're on the longest sequence without a win in my lifetime and the second longest in the history of the club. I was there in the 70's and agree as a team we were really poor at times. But at least we were competitive for the level we were at. Not trying to change your mind at all, I guess I'm expressing in the hope I'll feel better.....
It’s a different world now though.Even in those days you scoured the Greenun and Chronicle to try to find out what was happening. Also people wrote letters to the papers because that was all that there was in those days. Nowadays it’s more of an ‘instant’ world but despite this the board and Conway are seriously taking the piss ( not to mention taking us for granted) by totally ignoring us as fans. I am now and utterly p1ssed off at the way the club is being run, seemingly by people who look at figures but have no clue about what it takes to put together a decent team
I watched us in L4. That is where we are heading again with these muppets. Tonight was not an unlucky defeat, it was a total capitulation. RIP Jim Iley, he could set up a team a lot better than this one.
We're currently well on course for division 3 mate. If we carry on this course of selling everything that's not tied down, and replacing with raw youngsters, I wouldn't completely write off a dip into division 4. We have only to have a few seasons in league one, and fans will fall away. Any profit on players will be taken up by our losses, and unless the 'billionaires' want to put their own money in, the club's economy will shrink, and the quality of targets will inevitably be poorer.
To capitulate? When did we threaten their goal in the last 30 mins? We were toothless up front & like a pissed nappy in defence.
