I don't want to vent my feelings on the team. But I fear some will start to if the defensive mistakes continue. I'd rather leave it outside the ground but I do want to express my anger. Hesitate to suggest it but demonstration on Grove Street or behind the Ponty pre-kick off?

We played them for 90 minutes, not 30. We had chances. We hit the bar. We lost by one goal. We had the majority of possession. We were away from home. We were more than likely to lose a game like this. We're used to it.

I’m not sure i’d agree with the point some are making - that the Board are only interested in the Finances. I believe they want to see us do well and prosper. It’s just they are really, really, really poor at running a Football Cub.
    Their overall ‘philosophy’.
    The policy on transfers in.
    The policy on transfers out.
    Their quality in recruiting players.
    Their policy on loans.
Their policy on coaches v managers.
Their support to the coaching staff.
    Their relationship with the supporters.
    Their approach to communication.

They are just really poor at these things. But even worse than all of these issues is the breathtaking lack of self awareness and seeming refusal to ever accept that they may have got in wrong as regards any of these issue, learned the lessons and adjusted their approach accordingly. That is simply staggering.

Can't take issue with that. Am just trying to keep things in perspective. And failing.

Eh? I’m merely saying that we’ve not been this bad for 40 years.

I know we're bad. We're bad. We're really really bad.

The goalie wasn't though. Tell me he wasn't. Go on...just to cheer me up.

This is the most frustrating thing for me. They are voluntarily at a football club in a football mad town, area and country, and they are surrounded by football people.

Also, they must socialise with officials from other clubs on matchdays at least.

Does anyone question them? Offer advice? Do they not welcome opinions?

They really are a strange lot.

Never a demonstration vs players on my part, but I've decided I'm not going on Saturday because I don't believe there is a point in our being in the competition we are playing in. The purpose has been removed. Purpose aside, the likelihood is that I will spend several hours of a weekend making myself really miserable. So I might as well do something else. In the unlikely event that we win, I will have done something of purpose, away from watching Barnsley, and feel pleased with the result, even though I missed it. I've never felt so comfortable with a decision not to watch a game. Usually it tortures me. I'm sorry to the players, but I can't support this regime anymore.

That my friends is the legacy of our current owners, the epitaph on the back of their taxi when they finally leave, the inscription on the gravestone of their tenure at our club. What a sad sad post!

    Message to eldest daughter:
“Don’t think I’ll bother with the match on Saturday.”
Reply. “That’s fine, I’ll travel down in the afternoon instead.”
    Same message to nephew.
    Reply.
“I’m not bothering. Think I’ll do something more important, like stacking the dishwasher.”

I remember Admin well, and the impact was terrible but it felt all the way through that everyone was pulling together. Fans had a role to play and had a purpose.
The mess i refer to is the mess that is the irrelevance of being a Barnsley fan. We have no say, no role. Pointless.

Fired - I understand and have been having very similar thoughts. But if I walk away I may never come back.

I've spent 52 years supporting this club. Being a Red is part of my identity. Not being a Red would feel like betraying my Dad's legacy - him passing on his love for Barnsley FC. And his Dad's before him - since 1912. I'm not willing to just walk away. Which is why I'll be there and I will support the team but I will most definitely let these owners know exactly how I feel about their actions.

I want my club back. It's time to fight for it.

[QUOTE=. "The club is in the biggest mess in my lifetime."

You must either be a youngster or a relatively new supporter.

Like many of you I won't be going on Saturday.
It's my own personal decision and I will put up with the consequence.
I'll still try to listen on Ifollow but that depends where I am. If I'm on the beach at Scarborough with the doggies then I won't be desperate to know the score etc.
I think what pisses me is that even if there is an empty ground then they'll still announce a crowd of 11000. Rather loses the point.
