He can't use that excuse he's just a bone idle disinterested waste of oxygen, who shouldn't be allowed to wear Barnsley shirt again, me grandmother could have put on a better fight for the ball before they scored than he did and she's been dead for 25 years. He's an absolute disgrace and a very poor role model for the younger squad members.
After his cowardly showing against Brentford where he refused to track back and cost us three goals I thought that would be the end of him. He's garbage. Yet, here we are, another new coach and clearly done no research because he's back in and back losing us games. He's woeful.
He's not championship quality, otherwise he wouldn't be here. Anyone that is of the aforementioned quality will be sold in January. The end.
He was probably our most effective player. But you can't select a player who does that time and time and time again.
I believe Cavaré is not idle, not disinterested, he’s passionate & he cares. However, he does look increasingly like he’s not good enough at this level
Even last season a division lower he was a liability. Gave away five different penalties. He also gave away a free kick at Coventry that led to their winner. He cost us a potential win a year before against Fulham when getting sent off. He's not worth all the negatives, he doesn't offer enough positives.
I'd urge you to spend the next game he plays watching him when our attacks break down. A few weeks ago I did, and after being a fan of his, I can't defend him anymore.
I have to say, after watching the replays, he was brushed aside far too easily in the lead up to their goal. And leading up to the Ben Williams clearance off the line, he was turned so easily.
Just watched the highlights and that was poor by Cavare to say the least. Looks like his heart just isn't in the club and it would be no big loss if he goes in January if that's the best he can come up with.
I I watched him a few times when he lost ball in their half or half way line , he packs in and no interest in getting back to defend or winning ball back
Yup. He's got talent, but you just can't play someone who does that. He lets his team down every time he goes on the pitch.
I watched him tonight but cowardly idleness passionless uncaring do not describe him. Consistently careless would be an apt description, probably because he’s out of his depth
GS said on Cavare mistake “This is the reality. We must learn. Big talents learn, normal talents it takes more time.” Think it’s about time some of these players got a kick up the jacksy - we need people willing to scrap and fight every ball. Cavare isn’t that.
he didnt care enough to put up a fight for the ball before their goal and he's hasn't been passionate enough to track back to prevent goals after we've lost possession on numerous occasions this season.
I believe he's potentially a very good footballer. He is quick, strong and good in possession - at times. His weaknesses are about application and desire in my opinion. He doesn't want it enough and isn't prepared to work hard. The best footballers have talent and application and that's why he won't progress any higher. I think he'll end up going back to France at the end of the season and will probably have a decent career, but will never reach his true potential.
He has all the attributes but he doesn’t have a footballing brain. He’s got a big frame & often tires himself out going forwards or chasing lost causes & then he’s not got the energy or in the right position often enough when we’re under attack. But it’s not like there’s an obvious replacement. Neither Sibbick or Jordan Williams look up to it & although they might be better defensively they’re both significantly worse going forwards. I couldn’t make a case for any starting but I also find it hard to criticise the manager for starting any of them as none of them are up to it
Regarding the defence..... I thought they were magnificent last night..... Them not us! They may be in trouble and were 'all at sea' on a number of occasions and we also were a little unlucky on a couple of occasions e.g. hitting the crossbar from a magnificent curling attempt from Brownie. Nevertheless they threw themselves in front of everything (I lost count of the number of shots they blocked) chased us down on everything and protected their inexperienced keeper. on the other hand Cavare just threw in the towel for their goal and after that we looked a total disorganised shambles and but for Radlinger and BW we would probably have lost by at least 4 or 5. They do try but when Woodrow is having to come back so deep as he did towards the end of the match then the knock on effect of a hopeless defensive unit is that the midfield and attack lose their potency and the pressing game falls apart. Bobby Hassell was excellent as a summariser last night and constantly pointed out where things were going wrong in a very analytical way.
