I don't know why, but I thought last night was the chance to start to generate a little momentum. I thought it was our best chance for a while to get a win and go into the Hull game with some confidence. Having seen Hull thump Preston 4-0, I'm deeply concerned that if we concede early on Saturday, it could be a very painful drubbing. I just can't see a win anywhere.
It's like a form of Morse Code..... It says "For fcks sake get some experienced players in, yes, I said experienced"
How about one of these experienced defenders on a half-season loan? James Chester (Villa); Kevin Long (Burnley); Michael Hector (Chelsea - not 'experienced;' just very good); Scott Dann (Palace); Wes Morgan (Leicester City); Richard Stearman (Sheffield United); Sulieman Bamba (Cardiff City); Michael Hefele (Nottingham Forest); Tom Lees (Sheffield Wednesday). Half-season loan wouldn't break the bank - only the board's philosophy, but is already being broken, so why not make an exception? One experienced player could make all the difference, as long as it is the right one - someone who has the on-field presence and leadership to bring along the youngsters and organise the back-line at the same time. Incidentally, I checked Manuel Maranda of Wacker - games played this season = none!
So much for my foolishly optimistic post. We've lost 3 in a row since. http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/if-we-dont-beat-stoke.285007/#post-2377136 Although I did also say about the Stoke game... http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/if-we-dont-beat-stoke.285007/page-2#post-2377190
