'New look' sounds great when associated with a long awaited new shaped prestige car, or a place that's had a total make over by Laurence frilly sleeves. When describing the first team coaching staff, it doesn't have the same ring to it.
Looks to me like with Senft coming and taking Murray’s job in the first team squad, they wanted to keep Murray, which left Tonge surplus to requirements. Not unusual to see or unexpected really, wish him luck.
As was said previously, we’d be better off with Al Murray. Pint of lager for the gentleman, glass of wine or a fruit-based drink for the lady.
There really isn't much good left to cling to at this club anymore. Best wishes Dale, I hope you succeed elsewhere.
Rather we just went.back to the old one at the start of the season, tbh we could have had klopp as head coach with pep and Jose as assistants and we would still be 8n this mess.
Yeah true. Best wishes to Dale - cracking lad and did well for us. But not unexpected. But also thanks to Murray who stepped up - he’s a very good coach and well thought of in the game. He did what he could, and tbf got us some decent points. So I can see why the club have kept him. It’s like in any busy, if the going gets tough, you take note who stands up to be counted and digs in. Murray has earnt his right to stay in that respect.
I think just the personable nature of how he just refers to him as just Daniel says a lot about how close they all were as a coaching team. Bobby Hassell also referred to him as just ‘Daniel’ in the commentary last night. Regarding Dale Tonge, I will always remember his answer to the question in the post promotion press event they all did when they asked him to name the key thing that Daniel Stendel had brought to the place and Dale’s answer was that he is a ‘winner’ . It is my personal belief that it was this desire to be a winner and the realisation that he didn’t have the resources available to win games at this level , that would have lead to the fallout behind the scenes. It’s all so very sad and not what any of us expected after such a good promotion season.
Very rare that I know much about the club, but here are things I've been led to believe about this from people who ought to know. 1. He wasn't offered the job when Stendel left. 2. He didn't want to leave 3. The players f***ing love him. Another sad day.
******* furious about this. I hate these Muppets who bought OUR club, I wouldn't wish them upon anyone. Disgrace.
Telling piece by Tongey in today's Chronicle. He confirmed that the Club offered him an alternative role, but he decided not to take it, so he actually left of his own accord. He goes on to say " hopefully I will be back involved at another club very soon."
He's a bit inexperienced Tonge isn't he? we're crying out for experience, he was managing the U16s less than 12 months ago. We need experience all over, surely?
Fair enough then. Assistant coaches etc are always collateral when the manager goes. Nothing new. A lot of the time, the new manager won’t agree a contract without stipulations of bringing his own men in. Again, nothing new. Shame to see him go, but that’s football for you.
