Not going to be here for the GE this year. So like I'm sure many do, arranged a postal vote, got a letter today saying they had received it too late, bare in mind I sent my application start of November!!!!!!! So I phoned asked what it was all about considering the deadline for postal votes was 26th of this month, back log and Royal mail got the blame, asked what I could do, even offered to collect a postal vote, which got no no'd. I could apply to vote by Proxy, if I sent my application however there was no guarantee they'd get it by the 4th of December. I'm done now with it all, balls to them, never known such an incompetent organisation.
That's a better way for me to look at it, pretend I was going to vote for the scum, and it's a vote lost for them
It doesn't help now, but we could email a scanned copy of the form into Rotherham council. They sent the forms out pre-filled and we signed scanned and returned same day. Rang up later to confirm all was well - you might be able to do the same with a proxy vote.
I might ring and ask if this is an option, I didn't see it as an option and the person I spoke to didn't offer is as one, to be honest he didn't offer much other than your application was late, which wore thin, quick.
