And we were unlucky not to get anything out of the first 2.

Today, we looked more calm and assured.

Hopefully we can make this click now and kick on.

    Special mention to aapo halme.

His first couple of games I questioned if he'd ever seen a football.

As it stands he's my no.1 on the team sheet, and he's getting better

Big difference for me is that we're controlling games now. We have a proper shape, both with and without the ball. I've never doubted their work ethic, nor their ability tbh. Certainly not their potential. As much as I loved Stendel, we were all over the place without the ball this season under him. If we manage to stop shooting ourselves in the foot we'll be fine.

Agree on Halme. I couldn't pick a motm between him, Mowatt and Bähre.

Lots of criticism for putting him in midfield, but he looked great - also someone who can win those headers in the middle of the park - brilliant today.

yeah, I think the pressing was very unstructured before and we lost our shape easily - looks like we have a shape now, and only those closest press - most players spend a game without the ball, and I think Struber clearly puts a lot of emphasis on what each players job is when they don't have the ball.

He stressed that was the main thing to work on after the first game

Really? I’ve doubted their ability and potential. And at times, their work ethic. What we got today was an excellent performance and I truly hope they can kick on. But it hasn’t blinded me to what’s gone on before. The jury is still well and truly out on these players, if not the Board.
However, agree with the comments on Halme, though i’d Still have him at Centre Back.

We've had bad games and made bad mistakes, no doubt. But we've also had lots of games where we were the better team and came away with nothing. This squad is nowhere near as bad as some of our previous relegation squads imo. They have talent, in some cases lots of talent, but they need time. We don't have time.

Agree Halme was excellent today, and the extra height in midfield really helped.

The problem is, I think he's also our best centre back, so if he's playing midfield it potentially isn't the best for the team. Bit I can't fault Andersen or Diaby today, so it worked.

    Hope it keeps working out.

God knows how we lost at Forest. We should've been 4-0 up before they scored. We matched Birmingham, blew a two-goal lead at West Brom, and were no worse than Leeds or Blackburn.

Such fine margins. If we could defend, we'd be comfortable in this division. No team we've played have made me think: bloody hell, these are amazing and we don't have the right to be on the same pitch as them.

Agreed, he did well today. They all did to be fair. It was great to see 2 fullbacks defending well and getting forward, that was the difference for me.

Kin hell. Thought it was only me. We’ve more than matched most teams we’ve played. Cut out the stupid mistakes and we’d have been or be ok. Hope springs eternal. Lots agree to the most part. but bloody hell some of the comments are *****, more so than their comments on the team.

With you completely until I remember Preston. We should have lost by 10.

We’re in a better position than before Wednesday with the other bottom five all losing and the amount of goals they’ve shipped .
