Not to be pedantic but that's Barnsley women an independent club not Barnsley ladies who are affiliated with Barnsley FC.

Some really daft stuff going on there with use of the BFC badge. Anyway, congratulations to the players . Crack on lasses.

According to Twitter the crowd was 302, I think it said it’s their highest crowd to date

Looks like the top two divisions come in at the fourth round stage. ( Just 9 ties in the 3rd round)

According to Wikipedia. Barnsley women (and used to be barnsley ladies) play at the academy. Is there another official ladies team?

I'm sure its now Barnsley Women only. Although they use the academy pitches for matches and practice, I don't think there is any affiliation with BFC.

There used to be a club called Barnsley ladies FC who changed to Barnsley FC ladies and became more linked to the club. Same badge, kits etc. They had age kids and adult teams. We'll call this club team 1

Something obviously went off but team 1 claimed it was simply that they asked to change the name to Barnsley women's FC as it they felt it was more appropriate and more in keeping with England women and other teams who tended to be called women not ladies. They say that they lost a vote on the committee and couldn't carry on with a club called ladies due to principles (yeah makes no sense to me either) so they created a new club called Barnsley women instead. New badge that has nothing to do with bfc, new kit, new name and a big announcement of a new multi million pound stadium at Broadway.

Barnsley FC now had no women's team so started up a new one called Barnsley FC ladies (let's call this team 2). Barnsley badge. Barnsley FC name, Barnsley FC kit etc etc. Problem is that they had no adult players so only have children's teams at present.

We are now in a situation where Barnsley FC ladies changed their name to Barnsley women's FC (team 1), dropped the Barnsley FC part of the name fully. Dropped the club badge and kit etc but somehow kept the original club's league share and league position along with still having the Barnsley FC ladies website address and until recently had the @barnslryfcladies twitter handle and they oddly still play at oakwell while the team still called Barnsley FC ladies (team 2) have the club badge, name, kit etc but no actual adult team or league share and have to use the alternative twitter account @ladiesbarnsley

    It's all a bit odd.
