Could make a case for being behind the ball when it was crossed. sky highlights. But still not conclusive.
He was definitely ahead of the last defender - it was close on whether he was behind the ball I looked at both the highights and also the matchday recap and cant get a clear enough view to be sure - looks levelish - I would have thought going on the speed Mowatt broke through he could well have been behind the ball when it was crossed VAR would have been interesting for that one And the Penalty - which was rather stonewall - no question the officials got that wrong - the Linesman had no excuse
From the Ponty, it looked like the ball was pulled back but the replay says not. Very close, I don't think you can overly criticise the linesman for it.
My one and only criticism of Chaplin Saturday, I don’t think he should be giving the linesman any opportunity to put the flag up in those situations. Stay behind the crosser. Other than that he was faultless. I’m a big fan of this lad and I do think he’s one of the players we currently have who’s going to have a decent career.
What happened late on in our box when the Hull fans all shouted for a penalty while it was 2-1? I sit in the ponty and didn't see what happened.
There was some shirt-pulling. I could see a Hull shirt being pulled by a defender. If either official had seen it it would have been a penalty. It seemed a daft thing to do as I could see it in the East Stand and so you'd expect the linesman at least to see it but we got away with it.
