I held my nose and voted Lib Dem (postal vote). Round these parts it is the only (unlikely) chance of kicking out the Tories. The 1st past the post system is broken. It was only the referendum where everyone's vote counted equally. For good or ill we need a fairer electoral system. Politicians would then learn to work together more for the national interest. It works in well other countries.

Labours policies and ideals line up with my own and although i'll never know for certain, even if i was born in a different part of the country i hope i'd still be voting Labour.

I don't live in Barnsley, none of my family/friends were affected by the miners' strike and I'll probably end up paying a little bit more tax if a Labour government get in.

However, I'll be voting Labour because their policies line up more closely with my own views than any other party.

Will say a lot to me when the election comes around. Hopefully show the Barnsley people still will vote for a fairer society and not just on the brexit issue. Given the majority voted to leave. Could also mean they’re not falling for Farage’s con. A Vote for the brexit party. Is a vote for the conservatives. Which most will have taken on board. Would have liked to see the breakdown of age groups added to the poll for each party.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m sure you don’t have to be an mp to be prime minister.

I know you don’t to be in the cabinet - not certain about PM.
But imagine how that’d work, a PM who no one at all voted for?

I’m afraid that’s not how it works.

you vote to elect a person, who is a member of a party, they can literally change party the next day.

so you really ought to know who you’re voting for.

How hilarious would that be. Take our country back. Save democracy by having an unelected PM. I almost want it to happen for the laugh.

As I write this, our poll is showing 68.7 to Dan Jarvis and 9.6% to the Tories and Lib Dems with Brexit Party on 8.4%.
My feeling is it will be a lot closer, albeit a relatively comfortable Labour hold.
My guess ...Jarvis 54%....Tories 16%....Brexit Party 20%...Lib Dems about 6%.
