Cmon own up. Who's never been for an interview elsewhere whilst in employment?

I've never been in a contract that hasn't allowed me to do so.

Yeah but how many people have had a contract similar to that of a football manager? Or a job where your potential employer would have to buy you out of the contract you have with your current employer?

Rules are a bit different in football to real life. Contracts have value to them. I don’t think anybody has every offered my company a couple of quid to take me on..

I must admit, I've been for an interview to become a Hearts fan.

How many have been for an interview whilst still in employment and tried to persuade two mates to go with you?

I have but I have never tried to line up employees to come with me whilst I was still employed.

I find it amazing that no one tried to defend Wright when he was accused of tapping players up/encouraging to leave but with Stendel people defend him saying its not his fault.

People can argue all day long about summer transfers etc from both sides but what should not be defended in any circumstances is an employee trying to deliberately weaken their employer.

Firstly - football contracts don’t allow that.
Secondly - why would anyone want to have mates with them ???
    Are you 17 ?

Turning this around, I've had it done to me a couple of times by staff I was employing. I soon got wind of it and separated from them.

How is that legal? I'm not saying it isn't, I'm not putting forward an argument, just genuinely interested how you can legally prevent someone looking for another job. I don't mean leaving and taking another job, I mean just looking. Surprised that's not in violation of the human rights act never mind employment law.

I agree, but for the ridiculous amounts involved, some people would sign away their souls, never mind their human rights.

Restraint of Trade I think. Many employment contracts have dubious clauses in them that are often unenforceable because of this. I'm sure @Chef Tyke knows better than me, but in general an employer will find it difficult to stop an employee seeking another job even if the employee has signed a contract promising not to do so.

You can apply restraint of trade to someone taking a job, but pretty sure you can’t stop them looking.
Even then it is almost impossible to enforce unless you are very high up and have access to sensitive commercial info.

I do not trust this board
Let's not forget their 21 words for a guy that worked his guts out for us with success.
Hearts do not think this board has a leg to stand on regards Stendel, so what are our board on about
A club must have approached Stendel first and that is done all the time, and that is not his fault
Then having been approached, and bearing in mind this board sold him out getting rid of his better players, then why should he not talk to the said club and find out what they were offering.
If this board said they could not issue a better statement because of the circumstances. ********, the same circumstances apply now but they have made a long statement on the issue
They are again kidding the Barnsley fans and a lot are falling for it
Hope Stendel does well and thanks to him for the times he had here

On a different subject! However, related to restrictions in jobs. Did you know that in teaching, if you don’t hand your resignation in by the end of May, then you can’t automatically leave until January of the next year? It’s the end of April for head teachers.
