Five Live are concentrating on finances in the Championship! Catching up with Red Rain’s analysis but using Deloitte instead. Predictions that several clubs will go out of business in the next five years. Bubble will burst.
So by dint of losing/making money and going out of business we are now a dead cert for promotion to the Prem. Or so the Plan would have it.
While ever there are rich egotistical idiots with nothing better to do with their cash, the circus will roll on. We'll be an established L1 club before anyone goes bust in the Championship.
Certainly if it’s left to the EFL to do something we’ve had it. Maybe it won’t take that. Seems to me that quite a few clubs are beginning to realise that the writing is on the wall. Take Boro, or Sunderland ( two teams picked cos I live up near and know their supporters). Both of those will not have any more money chucked at them and are having to start cutting their cloth. Perhaps in the next few years there will be a more even playing field.
