We have to start believing we can get out of this quite tight a few teams have hit poor form, but we must sort the leaky defence out.

January is massive- have to keep key players and get some experience at the back. Going forward isn't a problem

We can stop up if we inprove the defence as we score a fair amount

I fond it hard to belive that we are only one win away from getting off the bottom and 4 points from safety. After our recent run I’d have expected us to be more adrift than that. Maybe we can beat Rotherham’s total after all

The thing that hit home to me was speaking to a Wendy, and asking what he thought to the rumoured 15 point deduction.... he said... “we’ll still be above you...”

Good results for us today all round really.

If we can get a solid, experienced centre back in and sort our defensive frailties out whilst also keeping hold of our better players, we can definitely get out of this. All ifs I know but I’m feeling a lot more optimistic since we beat Hull.

Agree we need another CH but 2 full backs are priority for me. The diamond system means we’re pretty narrow in midfield which exposes the full backs a lot. Doesn’t help that the ones we have now are either kids or are pretty hopeless at defending.

all season long I've thought this group have been a gnats testicle away from a run of decent results. some of the football we rar capable of playing is sublime and definitely championship standard.
they're also a bonded group by the looks of it and dont seem to be getting phased by the position in the table. I think we look better organised under this manager. the lads seem to know what their jobs are. of course the defence still needs work but its looking better. (heard a rumour today that we were getting a defender on loan from Leicester in jan).
Weve beaten a good side today.

I’d agree, everyone could see that we needed a left back at the start of the season but we didn’t sign one, hopefully in January we will.

I think Jordan Williams has had a good couple of games this week but defensively he still worries me. Looking at their third goal today, he might as well not been there. Cavare to leave in January and then sign a right back with Jordan Williams as the understudy sounds good to me but I think they’ll stick with him.

Need to try and squeeze a few more points out before January if we possibly can. Hope we’ve got some new bodies lined up to bring in straight away!

It's not over yet. Let's just hope we don't kill off our chances in January.

29/45. Weve scored 29 goals so far which is joint 11th in the league, yet we have conceded 45 which is second worst only to Luton. Weve managed to score 16 out of the 22 games we've played so far, so it's obvious where the problem is. For me, we need to be looking at loaning a few out of favour defenders from the premier league or championship in January, we are never gunna sign anyone good enough to turn defence around in the limited and overpriced January market, so loans are the way to go. I'd have a look at that Lindsey and Pinnock on loan if it was up to me, they look alreyt them 2 and they are not getting much game time. Anyone know anything about them? I think they'd fit in well with our style of play.

Yeah, defence is key. We can’t be expected to score 4 to win a game

I know I know! Point of my post was I think loans are the way to go, that Lindsay and Pinnock thing was tongue in cheek. Really enjoyed game today, Chaplin has come into a league of his own under Struber. I honestly think we are one of the best teams in the league going forward, but I think the only way to sort defence out in January is through a few experienced loan signings from premier league.

Depends how wide and flexible the diamond is. Also, how effective the players are playing it so as NOT to over expose the full backs. Marginal stuff, but if the coach does his job.....

The fabled 'Giant Gnats' of Mongolia are said to have testicles the size of moon craters in the sea of tranquility. If so, you were over-optimistic.

To be fair Struber acknowledged in his post match comments that there are big issues to address defensively! Hopefully in January we can bring in an experienced CB and two full backs.

Hes not disgraced himself over these last few games, far from it but its still glaringly obvious hes not ready for this level and will cost us more than he helps us over the course of a season. Id be amazed if we dont bring in a right back.
